    Some personal question:

In the pc I started Mapinstall and it told: CNEUNT_2016.10 locked.

So I used Mapsource unlocker and Mapinstall let me install CNEUNT_2016.10 in the Nuvi 1440.
Unluckily the CNEUNT_2016.10 can't fit inside the Nuvi 1440 memory, so
I had to install only 65% country of the CNEUNT_2016.10.

It took more than 2 hours to install and at the end Nuvi wrote on screen "Cant unlock maps"

Why does new map is inside the Nuvi in a folder called "map"?
The old map was in .System folder and there wasn't the "map" folder

Is there a way to add CNEUNT_2016.10 map without using Mapinstall?
I ask this because it takes so much hours.

    Thanks

see unlocking solution [Only registered and activated users can see links. ].
You have the option to buy a 4 GB cheap sd and the whole map will fit.
Map transfer by Mapinstall to SD/Map (into SD card reader plugged in pc) will be faster too.

You can use both directories, but in Map folder you can use anyname.img

Download on forum an .img (not PC install), but building it by yourself it's better because you know what you want and need and it will work fine because you are sure it's made properly by Mapinstall and not with old Mapsource.

The map works perfect with my Garmin Oregon 550T and old version GPSMAP 60CSx during my recent trip to Amsterdam, Brussels and Paris. Thank you.

    UnLock MapSource Directory

    UnLock GMAP Directory:

Copy "UnLock MapSource.exe" in .gmap directory and run...
If you have problem to run EXE file "Right click and Run As Administrator"

Someone maybe can help, but we need more information. For example: Which map img file? A pre-compiled one from this thread? Which one from which post? Or did you make the img yourself from the PC Install and if so did you use MapInstall or MapSource? Does it go 'haywire' when it tries to display a JuctionView? If so try without a jcv file or with the bigger file D2504190A or redownload the smaller D3084160A. Or does it give a safety camera alert and go 'haywire'? Remove or disable the gpi files.
Or does it just randomly go haywire? What do you mean by 'haywire' anyway? Does the unit crash, freeze, stop routing, dance a jig or burst into flame? Etc., etc.. Give as much detail as possible, screenshots too if appropriate.

Hi!, on nuvis model 1xxx in many report the same problems as yours. I also had same problems with my old Nuvi 205.
The bug seems to be in the Cyclops itself (a kind of incompatibility), eliminated them the GPS back to work like a charm.
    Try yourself and report feedback.
