    Please Login or Register to see the links
    Pressing Ctrl + F keys on the keyboard brings up a search box and you can then look for 'SQLite' for example [see in above: <Path>.System/SQLite</Path>]. Use highlight and you can see every entry:

    Best not to share your GarminDevice.xml file with anyone and anyway, you'll learn nought if i or someone else just does it for you. catymag has posted a tutorial, so read that: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. You'll understand that it was posted so ppl can do it themselves, much as i tried to show you above . Please try it, very easy really.

    Has anyone got the speech recognition working properly for the middle east maps yet?

    I have a 3597, basic speech recognition works. But when you want to search the name of a place, like for example "Pizza Hut", it always says "not available for your country in American/British English"

    Also can someone please tell me which JCV file to use for my 3597 unit?

    Without the specific ASR files for this map, full speech recognition function cannot work. I don't think Garmin issues them for this map. The full map JCV file for all 2xxx/3xxx series is D4385090A.JCV.

    Our tutorial section would be a good place to start: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

    @wadawads
    Your unit doesn't use the additional files they're for automotive devices. You only need the map img file. For more info read the threads kindly linked by smokefree in his post above yours.

    This map has Arabic CP1256 so it will probably be ok, just dl it and try it. If it's not recognised by your 64, then change the map code page to Latin CP1252 with [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. If you need Arabic then try the same workaround used for Unicode CP65001 detailed here:

    Please report back your results if you have to use the workaround.
