You can't merge these maps without losing important functionality needed for autorouting and index-search!
Why do you want to merge them, do you expect them to route cross-border between the three different maps? This will not work.

On what model Garmin device do you want to use these maps? All models of recent years and many older models are suitable to recognise multiple map files placed on one SD or microSD card.

    It's a ZUMO 550.

AFAIK, zumo 550 is not able to recognise multiple map files on one SD card. You could place one map file on the SD in addition to cartography in the internal memory.

That's why I would like to merge the IMG files with GmapTool but according to [Mapperoni] not an option without loosing functionality.
Then why do we have this tool if one cannot merge properly ?

In post 16 [mollex] created such image called OMK 3.04 Europe.img (3.84 GB)
The idea was to make one IMG that contains all motormaps and put this file on the 4GB SD card while I use the internal memory for a CN map and other stuff (insufficient free space left for an extra IMG)

I guess I will have to make a single IMG for the SD card with BC thus not using GmapTool ?!

I guess that the proper way to create a mapset with all four maps together is with MapInstall. The mapset will be about 2.8 Giga which is kind of heavy so it wouldn't be a bad idea to create two mapsets in order to make them lighter and easier for the device to run. Try them to see if they work well, always try new map files from SD not internal memory, that's very important because if something goes wrong with the map file in internal memory you could get in a lot of trouble !

You can create one mapset with Mapinstall but keep in mind that this is something else than joining the 4 separate maps!
The resulting image will contain the four maps (with their own Family-ID and index files) but they are not joined in the sense that they are one big map now. Creating a route from one map to another will still be impossible.

I did not see any peculiar or crossing data for total image (the four maps simultaneous creation). By another words each mapset contain only proprietary data. So I guess what there are no problem with separated images and its joining. I think the separated regions are compatible on their external node for usage properly.

I suppose try with joined maps and check if there's routing/search problems but likely Mapperoni is correct imo. In that case, the best way to then use these maps without problem in search and/or routing would be to have separate images of each and for your unit tommieuser, i'd suggest put each map on separate small SD cards [x:\Garmin\gmapsupp.img is the only naming usable on SD for zumo 5x0]. In the unlikely event you wish to route across from one map to another, swap them out as needed. Create any such routing in stages to and from the actual boundary of each map. Multiple routes can be saved, up to 50 routes i think is possible with zumo5x0.
