    @ Neil

Thanks for this info. Makes sense. I have no intention to create an IMG in MS but am using precompiled IMG (thx smokefree) to copy to SD card.

My needs are very basic hence the use of MS
    - I create a ROUTE in MS then upload that route into my ZUMO to drive on that road.
    - I download a TRACK from ZUMO into MS to see where I have been (in case I did not prepare a ROUTE but do some free ride cruising :-)

I have just installed BC so I could run the installer. Maps unlocked and now visible in BC and MS. Will also give BC a try.

Another advantage that BC has over MS is the ability to see a map *.img file [even if it's locked] on a unit, media card/usb stick or even a virtual SD on your PC's HDD. BC's really not so bad at all, once you get your head around how it works generally and that the method of installing maps is quite different to MS where it's integrated in the program itself. BC invokes MapInstall to do that function separately, and MI can install map images from PC Installs quite independently of BC.

I'm addicted to MAPSOURCE 6.16.3 as it fits all my needs Can I install this map for use in MS only ?
Do I need to use a REGKEY to make the installer think I have BC installed ?
I would prefer not to install BC since I will continue to use MS only.
    1. Try to create:
    HKLM\SOFTWARE\Garmin\Applications\BaseCamp\

    2. If way above is not work you have to use inno unpacker for extract files:
    Original for Command line :
    Code:
Please Login or Register to see the links
Portable GUI for it (extract to any dir and replace innounp.exe from original for CMD):
    Code:
Please Login or Register to see the links
In attachment below you can find file lists for 4 FID mapsets (compatible for selection with TotalComander if you need install only one or several map (by mapset coverage) on PC) and sample reg files. But if you want and agree have all 4 maps on PC the better and simple way extract all files to one directory. If you familiar with MapSorce you can edit reg files to change in according with your files destination path and install map manually.

But BC work as Nuvi! So it is for blonde only!!!
Mapsource is like swiss army knife for real man:
    1) It found all object in map even if only this objects is text stroke of any type...
    2) You can open so many instance of MS as you like and you have unlimited possibility to open, save, combine and compare files with data and copy-paste your routes, waypoint and track by the simplest way with using mouse...
    3) No any problem with Virtual disk if you convert map to GMAP and create link to any disk on PC...
    4) Absolutely no instrument for analyze and saving mapset info in BC. Do anybody send one or pair needed map segment for test with BC with MI faster then one or pair hour???

neil, it is holy war!!! BC do blonde from us, because we do not see source of data. It is the salt and but not Gb or Gib

Pc installer, locked: it will install:

    1. OnRoute Motor BNL-DACH-DEN 3.75, ID 100
    2. OnRoute Motor FR-IT 3.74, ID 103
    3. OnRoute Motoe SP-PT 3.75, ID 104
    4. OnRoute Motor GB-IE-FI-NO-SE 3.76, ID 107

    Unrar and run OnRouteMotorEuropa2015_3.76_ALFA.exe
    Unlock with UnLock MapSource.exe,
    run it into C:\Program Files\OnRoute\MotorEuropa2015

I have the following (unlocked) images:

    1. OMK 3.04 BNLDACHDEN.img (865.8 MB)
    2. OMK 3.04 FRIT.img (1.28 GB)
    3. OMK 3.04 SPPT.img (454.45 MB)
    4. OMK 3.04 GBIEFINOSE.img (857.25MB)
    5. OMK 3.04 Europe.img (3.84 GB)
Works OK on my Zumo 350 and Zumo 590.
For other devices place images in the correct directory of your GPS and rename to "gmapsupp.img".

What is best practice to merge multiple IMG files from post n8 into one image file ?

First unlock individual image files with gimgunlock then merge these with GMapTool or first merge all locked files with GMapTool then unlock the resulting (single) image file.
