my original question to the reply above was:

'is there a new SID file for the Garmin Nuvi 2350 ?

its been ' D3585040A.sid ' for a few map releases now. ( External Point Addressing) '

Ive put the New SID file in my Garmin Nuvi 2350 and it still reads the older file (D3585040A.sid)

Im guessing the new sid file for external point addressing isn't for my Nuvi 2350 ?

    thanks

D3585040A.sid latest release was for CN Europe NTU 2013.40, no more D35850x0A.sid versions available.
New External Point Addressing file provided with CNEU NTU 2016.10 is named D5677010A.sid
I hardly believe D3585040A.sid might work with CN Europe NTU 2016.10, because maps addition files contain their map related version FID.

    Copy and paste from GarminDevice.xml

    <Path>.System/SID</Path>

    <FileName>D3585040A.sid</FileName>

Above entry is from my Nuvi 2350 with CN Europe NTU 2016.10

this entry appears even if I add the ' D5677010A.sid ' file to the Sid folder on my Nuvi

bear in mind that this is an old satnav

Simply: that given/data (but also other) It is updated if you buy new map
For example: you also have the notice of map obsolete, even though you've installed the latest release

Not sure what I was doing before, but I tried again to add new sid file and re boot satnav and now it shows up on GarminDevice.xml

How about the SQLite folder with a .db file for traffic trends v2 ? its been D317400.db for years. (158,374KB)

    Thanks

Yes, the file D317400.db is correct. Same file since 2011

    Why?
You've to rename the original "gmapsupp.img" to "gmapprom.img". That's all!

    @b12b
I think you misunderstand what Alexis_ wants. He wants an original image from a device [LM or one-off update/purchase], not an img created with MapInstall. Many users prefer to have that type of image, most usually it's downloaded to the device as 'gmapprom.img' which is why he used that naming.
