For GPS devices not sold in China, your best choice of detailed map is the one without QSI.
Can you mirror this somewhere else? I've already tried downloading from Baidu 3 times, and each time, it will throttle down the bandwidth after around 600MB has been downloaded, and then after that, the download just dies.

    These are not English/Pinyin maps. From Posts 1, 6 & 9:

I'm not fully understanding your problem now. The maps posted [both Official shifted and Venus shift-corrected] are Chinese only. The unit must be Chinese language capable for searching in Chinese because Pinyin input won't work with Chinese only maps.

actually, I have US unit, downloaded Chinese map from here, but could not do any address search in Chinese.
I thought one from other post here, install English one and Chinese one together, and then could do English pinyin searching.
but it looks like not working, taking a long long time. Is another way could do that?

The info that it's not a Chinese unit was important. Try leaving both loaded but with only the Chinese map selected leaving the English one unchecked in myMaps and you can then seach by POI at least. This post by syzygy will explain further: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ].

What happened is: they bought or brought back a foreign (outside of China) Garmin GPS device which can display maps in Simplified Chinese, but has no way to input Chinese for searching. Without searching capability, the device is close to useless. To enable searching, they actually install two CN China maps, one in Simplified Chinese and one in English. The latter is unchecked all the time. Now, to search a POI they simply enter its English name in PinYin and the POI found will be displayed on the Simplified Chinese map, ready for navigation.

There seems to be no problems reported so far with two such CN China maps installed.

@Syzygy A while ago I traveled to Hong Kong to see some family I download your offset-corrected and the unlock maps onto my Android streetpilot but there was an offset on both maps. My question is the ported streetpilot for android will that correct the offset with the ".bin" file or will the offset corrected maps fix the problem. Thanks for the help
