I did, so far as i know. Initially City Navigator 2017 would not work. That was when I realized that i had to hack the garmin. My old 60CSx never had to do that. I know patching the firmware worked because as soon as i did city navigator 2017 worked. I then tried Quebec Topo v3. It said locked. So i tried the gingunlock tool. Then that worked. When i came to Quebec Topo v4, i ran gingunlock on it. I did not get any errors while running it. Saw a lot of data pass by, but it was too quick to notice if there were any problems. However it still says locked when i turn on my GPS. I did not load the entire map. I only loaded the regions i needed. Why waste space on my card if i know i will never go to the far north. I do not think that would make a difference.

Long story short, unless i somehow messed up the firmware patch, not sure what else to try.

I did send a PM (as mentioned in the post) to get a link to download the 1.98gig version of Topo 4, but no response yet. Not sure what info is lost between the 3.98 and the 1.98gig version.

Did you use latest gimunlock+MapSigPatch or original gimgunlock? Your GPSMAP 60CSx can use maps unlocked with the original gimgunlock because its firmware has "MVS: ---" and "GSV: ---", but your GPSMAP64 has both "MVS: Yes" and "GSV: Yes". It needs all map unlocking done with the latest gimgunlock and firmware patching for Unicode map use.

Check if your topo img is not read only. If it's read only, deselect it in properties and run again on it gimgunlock.

I think i did... i used the file as provided in [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] post 522 .. .sorry not sure how to link direct to that msg. The original link took me to a page that did not work and that is what @catymag gave me...

The only file that was provided was gimgunlock.exe ... i dragged the img file into it and a whole bunch of stuff listed by... subsequent tries just says "skipped" but the rest goes too fast to read.

I just figured out my problem.... when i sent the IMG file to the unit via basecamp, i thought i had told it to send it to the SD card.... so that is the file i ran through gimunlock ... for whatever reason i decided to check on the device itself... and i saw another file there.... apparently it decided it wanted to split the file and put part of it on the device and part of it on the SD card. I am not sure why it would want to do that, or that it was even possible. even though i thought i had been sending it to the SD card, in basecamp, all it would show me in free space was the space on the device. So when i checked the SD card, i saw the files there and assumed it sent the file where i had wanted it to. So now i have the map split into 2 parts and i have to enable both in the map choices if i want to see it all. I will have to play around to figure out how i can send the map to the SD card only.

I recall right clicking on the SD card in basecamp and selecting send maps. It shows me i have 8.37gb total and whatever i had free. My SD card is only 2gig and i have other stuff on it. So perhaps it is smart enough to know that and split the maps accordingly. Mind you it would have been nice if it told me i did not have enough free space and not allowed me to upload the maps.

    Thanks guys for the help.

These new card are rare and I had shared TrakMaps topo 4, because what a person on another forum had sent me a DVD copy for me to show him how to do!

like the marine g2 Vision cards lake ... it takes a good Samaritan who even bought him who is willing to give us a copy for sharing!
same for TOPONAV v4 ect ...
