For my 765 I use the D3060120A.JCV (from Garmin direct link)... That's the same file I use for the 855 and 1390. That size is 805,529KB (786MB).

D1279200A.JCV - US & CA. 757MB. Large file from nuvi 765. Use in any unit supporting full-screen picture size 480*270 such as 1xxx series in place of the smaller file offered by Garmin with map updates. Single rar file ~569MB, ~757MB decompressed.

D3060120A is the full NA file [including MX]. The D1279200A is US & CA only. Otherwise they have the same views afaik. Depending on the original LM maps subscription or OEM map update [All NA, Lower 49 US, US & CA, CA only or MX only] Garmin will supply the corresponding regional JCV file too. My US 765 has 4GB as would yours. However in the case of the limited memory 2GB 1xxx series they supply a cut-down smaller file with quite limited views. The larger JCV files can be put on a microSD [Garmin/JCV/*.jcv] in place of the cut-down file. 1xxx were not given full NA as OEM i think. My US 1300 had lower 49 only and my US 1490 had US & CA.

Good explanation Neil... now I understand it. I added SD cards in all my units (for use of full jcv), except the 765 that doesn't need it yet.

In my area there was a construction that lead to closure of a road. They finish and now I drive on that portion every day, but Garmin still doesn't know is 'finished' when coming home from North (but OK when I come from South), it's like missing one of the turns and tries to route me around. If friends with Garmin try to come to my place driving from North will end up in a wild geese chase.
For three years I keep reporting the error to both Garmin and Navteq (Nokia now). Still no result. I gave up.
I have a good story to tell.
In my area a new "traffic circle" was born overnight (Some call it a roundabout).
I reported to both Garmin and Navteq the very next day.
In the Very Next update it was fixed.
