Time Zone Map is literally. Actually it is map of local time for countries of world and this map is given synchronization between local time on navi screen and UTC time from satellite.
But some model of navies have accessory World Clock where you can see truly Time Zones and sunlight footprint on earth's surface for the moment. This tool use only mathematics and Filopanti ideas for working

Does anybody know what is the difference between "ordinary" and "small" versions of Time Zone Map? I found nothing about it on Garmin website. Only warning that wrong version can kill your device. How to know which file is for which device?

There are no difference in content. But part number is different only. Use the proprietary file with according to part number for you device - 006-D1074-00 or 006-D0224-00 to avoid of updating problem.
