So it will not work with the stand alone English version? only the dual?, When you have the tool released will it work on all three versions of the JCV?

That's right. Note that a JCV file is tied to a specific detailed map, sometimes device too such as Nuvi 40/50.

The tool to be released will work on not only all three versions of Thai JCVs but also SG/MY and Indonesia JCVs. It will work with their future JCVs too (well, until Garmin changes its protection method). This patched JCV is just a sample to prove the concept and validate the algorithm used. I don't want to release something that leads people driving to the wrong lanes. So, please provide more feedbacks as you can. Thanks.

    tool is here now

Using the simulation mode, I have yet to get the JCV to work with my US Nuvi 3490. Software Ver. 7.60 Firmware 3.04.03. I have City Navigator NT Thailand 2013.30 Dual named as gmapprom.img in the garmin directory on sd card along with the JCV file. Suggestions anyone? Thanks.

Set your location in Bangkok and simulate a route out-bound using a major arterial road [freeway/expressway] and you should see something. Press the top LH corner [turn arrow] to scroll thru the route, when it finds a JC view it will display on the RH side of the screen instead of the route map.

The *.jcv file needs to be in a sub-folder named JCV in the Garmin folder of microSD card.

No, nothing, but if u need English display use the Dual Map and try the [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] to change the codepage.
    Maybe it helps you.
My 3790 can display English when the user interface is in English

i would like to convert the map to use with Mapsource, as i am only able to speak thai, but i can not read

My 3770 can handle the dual map, depending on the interface language also, displaying JCV perfectly, because i bought it in BKK
