Information on the Garmin site and also posted in #1:

I put the img on a virtual sd en looked at the map in Basecamp. I cann't find a trail on a map and even searching for a "trail with a name" is not present in Basecamp.
Unless there comes still an sql-database, without I think this topomap is not a map with Activerouting, but a map which you can use in BaseCamp/modern outdoorgps with the different activity-profiles.

    Hi,

This map is just a DEM-coloured remake of Garmap Southern Africa Topo & Rec 2012.3:

This Map is according to Garmin incompatible with a Nuvi !
Will it work in a Nuvi ?
Is the Map NT or Non-NT ?

Well, topos with raster content are not fully compatible with most nuvis anyway. The nuvi 5xx range which are 'crossover' auto/outdoor devices can display such topos more fully. Most automotive devices are intended to be used with City Navigator type maps, which are vector mapping, and that allows the image on the screen to be generated 'on the fly'. Raster maps are more like a scanned copy of a paper map. Therefore, the problem usually is not one of NT v. non-NT format in any way, but is because how some 'conventional' topos are made at a basic level and the fact is that most nuvis just aren't designed to handle any raster content if it's in topo maps so can't display all the detail and features available to dedicated outdoor/marine devices. Hi Neil,
I was actually fishing here !
The previous Topo and Dem Maps of this region were actually vector NT maps that worked fine on both Nuvi's and outdoor devices.
    Let me rephrase the question.
Has anyone actually tried this map on a Nuvi ?
    Does it work ?
