I have a Garmin c320 and I downloaded an unlocked gmapsupp.img North America NT 2014.10 but it is too large as the C320 only likes a 2gb SD card.
How can I take that image and only choose lets say the east coast of the US and then load that to the SD card?
Download Mapsource Installation, from post #1 ,Then you can make smaller map using Mapinstall
You need to install BaseCamp on your computer as well.

I am having difficulty installing the latest map to my older Nuvi 760. I have purchased a 4gb SD card and created a Garmin folder on it. I copied the unlocked gmapsupp.img map from this thread into this Garmin folder but when I turned the unit on the Map Info button was grayed out and it wouldn't tell me what map was installed. Then I moved the .img file to a Map folder in the root of the SD card and still no Map Info. Then I put the .img file in Garmin\Map folder and still nothing. Then I just put it in the root of the SD card but still nothing. What am I doing wrong? My Nuvi 765 reads it from the Garmin folder on the SD card and so does my Nuvi 1490T so I know the file is good. Is there something I need to do to get it to work on my Nuvi 760? Please help. Thank you.

Have you updated the fw recently on the 760? Older fw versions will only see a map .img up to 2GB in size, but all NA is only ~1.88GB anyway. Recent fw will extend that 2GB limit to the FAT32 file size limit of up to 4GB though. Ensure the SD's format is FAT32 not FAT16, and connect to WebUpdater to update the unit's fw if necessary. Hard reset both before and after the fw update, back up files first. The unit should then see 2 images of up to 4GB each in the SD's Garmin folder named as gmapsupp.img and gmapsup1.img [as will your 765]. The [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] is a wealth of information, this for instance: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] (also applicable to ALL US/EU 2xx & 7xx series and 465T with recent fw)

New to this map thing but been a techy for years. I'm trying to load 2014.20 on an OEM In Dash unit 430N. I loaded 2014.10 fine but 2014.20 is giving me grief. I've tried multiple different downloads/torrents/etc of the files. Everytime I get this error that says "The map update provided is not compatible with your navigation system" - I know there are others with the 430N that are running 2014.20. Any of you guys that have all the experience have any advice. When I got 2014.10 to work I downloaded 2014.10 by Ipmark and it asked for a code, I entered it and all was fine. I have been learning all the tools, Gmap, ImgTool, Jetmouse... changing names, etc. You guys can probably fix this is a second...

Is your img unlocked ? Look at the working previous one for the naming.

The maps I have working are "North America NT 2014.10 by Ipmark". I was really wanting to dig into these units, the 430N and the 730N, there's quite a crowd out there hoping they can customize, etc. What's the most common reason for maps not installing? Is it naming, product ID, etc etc? I guess what I'm asking is what are the most important details that have to be right or it's a deal breaker? This 430N is a very stubborn unit, I have a Nuvi 1390 and it's nothing like it. I've talked with Garmin and Navtek and they don't know much about it, they told me to talk to Chrysler which knew nothing at all. This all started by trying to load TOPO in my Jeep. Yes that's right, they sold a Jeep Wrangler without off-road maps. Ironic since most of the trails on the topo maps are called "Jeep Trails". So digging into that got me digging into hi-res junctions, 3DMaps, etc etc and it goes on and on. In case anyone didn't know Navtek is now getting their data from here.com. They told me the next release will be completely different. I seen rumors on here about people thinking they were about to change things up. When I called Navtek they answered the phone here.com so there ya go.

Caty I tried copying all the setting from the 2014.10 that worked to the 2014.20 and still no go. Made name the same, looked up the product ID, the one that is 00-000000-00 or whatever. I get the same result trying to load 3DMaps, device not compatible. When I try to load the Junctions I just get a quick PND did not update.

    I've tried locked and unlocked.
