I heartily second both Roger's & Loly's requests. Please don't use MapSource to generate ANY shortcut or full images - use MapInstall only, and don't insert 'vanity card' names into them if you intend uploading them for others to use.
What tools use other uploader?this img has been made with MS. Warning MS is discontinued , .img made with MS can give wrong routing in gps
Request for all uploaders: Please dont write in maps " cr... by.... or something like this " just add EU all.

I get on with you ..........
Thus, let me take the opportunity to rememeber to all the guys that want to "offer" their - cutted-off - maps a little summary on "how to" bypass the device using the Mapinstall features (I know that it take a longer time than using mapsource and many wants to do it faster...but....) .
Simply , using a USB pen drive (4 gb is enough) create a folder named Garmin in it and inside put the Garmindevice.xml file (you'll find into same folder in ur devices) . Just connect to a USB port on ur pc and launch Mapinstall.......don't be afraid if you'll receive a message like "A problem was encountered when try to connect to yuor device...etc etc.." just close it and go ahead . Now choose the tiles you need/prefer and then click on "next". That's it.
On your pen drive you'll find the cutted-off map .....in less time than using the garmin device .
And .....you are ready to offer your LOCKED map to the community ......in few minutes .
If you think that could be useless this short "how to" ,I apologize for that ( it is already well treated on other thread)
Bye, Umbe
Good advice is never useless and cannot be repeated often enough.

Basecamp and Mapinstall, read at Garmin forum Falagar's post linked in post n 6
You have to navigate to get to the good.
Galaxy S5 Kitkat 4.4.2 / Nuvi1200->1250 / Nuvi3790T->34xx / Nuvi 2200 / Nuvi 66 / Oregon 600
If you read all post of Falagar's you will see that he don't know what he like to say.
I use MS and no problems with img on any device, more problems is with CN that they release, with every new version is more new mistake that new road.
We found that in 2013.40 is road, but in 2014.10 and 2014.20 is missing, why they remove road if in reality you can drive in this road and is Asphalt on that road.
Paper map have more roads that CN, so i don't know anymore why we use GPS.
In Italy there are zones where MS crashes, np with Basecamp. If you build those tiles with MS your nuvi will crash too. Old nuvis can be bricked too if this map is loaded in internal memory. Same in the US in Boston area, but if you like visit
or test personally:Code:Please Login or Register to see the links

Mapsource crashes when recalculating your route

As I understand it, not only when loaded in internal memory. Also when used on SD. See post #51 here:
