Hi, I can not extract the map, to create an installer for Mapsource.
    I use the gmaptool.

it possible to get the original version for mapsource?

There isn't any problem to split this map for Mapsource.
The errors you get are related to a non existing directory.
Be sure to first create the destination folder and then select this directory in GMapTool.

I examined the new Topo España in Basecamp and I am rather diappointed with the quality.
I was hoping it would match Topo France and Germany Pro but I should have known better, Spanish maps are always incomplete.

Active routing on GR, PR and Vias Verdes is nice but if 50% of the Trails are missing or contain huge gaps it's not useable.
Even major GR's like GR11 and GR7 are incomplete.
Another annoying thing is the fact that many labels are not shown; roads, rivers, lakes, refuges, chapels etc. They probably can be made visible by editing the typ file but why didn't Garmin do this? You can argue that many labels make a map less visible but they did choose to show the labels of many thousands of geo-reference points!!

The background color of this map is also badly chosen: instead of white they made it yellow/brown.
Entire mountain-areas are filled with an annoying brown raster (sparsely vegetated) above the treeline.

There are some good things too in this map offcourse: cities and villages now have a road network (lacking in v4) and they are routeable.

I hope we wont have to wait for years to have a second pro release, I'm still waiting for a new Trekmap Italy pro, version 3 is absolutely insufficient Trail database is ridiculous.

You have to navigate to get to the good.

Yes, I see Trekmap Italy v3 as a first step in the good direction. About 1/3 of the country has highlighted trails but the other 2/3 are still missing.

    thx, a small oversight ...
Upon map split, lose DEM data and ActiveRouting?

No, you don't lose DEM (it's incorporated in the maps) and autorouting also functions.
Since Mapsource doesn't support Active Routing you'll have to use Basecamp or your GPS for that.
Put the img and the SQL folder in a Garmin folder on SD (or in a connected GPS) and you can use Active Routing in Basecamp.
The only thing you lose by splitting an img for Mapsource is the ability to search for POI.

There is no official Mapsource version, only an img as download or on SD card.
