The topic title mentions a scale of 50k.
The text further down the post states 1:200000 and 1:500000 which is 1:200k and 1:500k.
Maybe one zero too many in the scale reference?

Garmin site CH speaks about 50 k, like the picture above in post #1.
So I think it is 1:50.000 and the text in the post #1 (200000/500000) is a mistype.
(It's crisis and also the numbers devalu very quickly )

Many thanks, catymag! Unlocked with gimgunlock, it works "like a charm" in my GPSmap 62st. So I can go tomorrow to the Valais region to test it, and also to compare it with the Topo Swiss v.3. By the way: There is a new Topo Swiss v.4 in the pipeline ;-)

    Hi,
whats the main difference between the mapping of V3 and the 1:50k maps, I recently used my Gps in Switzerland on a Glacier and found the V3 really difficult to use, I'm thinking the 1:50k will be more like the paper maps.

    cheers

The difference is that the 1:50k map is only a rastermap whereas Topo Switzerland V3 contains 2 maps; a vector Topo map and a 1:25k rastermap.
So if you like rastermaps more and you are looking for the best map with the highest detail you should choose the V3 rastermap. It's a huge map (3,2Gb!)
