compass WorldWide Shaded Relief Map up to v.12.00 GPSMAP 620 BlueChart BaseMap

WorldWide Shaded Relief Map 3.00 GPSMAP 620 BlueChart BaseMap

It includes ocean depths which Garmin's basemap shading does not.
The GPSMAP 620 has 2 Basemaps, thats why this is called gmapbmap2.img.

I installed it in Trip and Waypoint Manager replacing its basemap so I could look at it in Basecamp and it's interesting to look at it.

Plotters second basemap,I dont think it can be used in nuvis, may be in outdoors along Bluechart, or to replace recreational map.

Caty, I heard that version is obsolete. Innumerous captains of submarine reported about the incorrect direction of sea currents near Netherland coast. Be keep to date with new version of V 7.00 WorldWide Shaded Relief Map:

You must leave usual basemap for automobile mode. This map is additional basemap for GPSMAP 6xx and it work only in sea mode. If you are interesting I can upload version 4.00 and 5.00 too. Version 7.00 here:

As I know you cant, basemaps can be seen just in devices or there is that Trip and Waypoint Manager trick.

The Trip & Waypoint Manager trick for viewing in BaseCamp mentioned by Caty in Post #1 also works in HomePort as well as BaseCamp. Instal [Only registered and activated users can see links. ], then go to C:\Garmin\TRIPWPT5 and replace TRIPWPT5.img with this basemap using that same name. It will then be visible in HP:

This can be used on a handheld Garmin Etrex 20 GPS!

Both base maps work together well..

Here is proof! ..here is 2 screen shots from my Etrex 20 of New Zealand with both gmapbmap.img & gmapbmap2.img in the Garmin directory.

    6fy5wl hv2d7s

The detail is only good to about 50 km zoom in then blanks out..

..but then the Etrex won't zoom out any more than 800 km so no big global views!

Detail is very crisp and clear though!

it works fine on my eTrex 30 too, the zoom needs to be over 20 km on my case to obtain a good image
