    maybe this can help someone:
I downloaded the mapsource locked version (from the torrent) and installed successfully on win xp 32 bit; as for other past versions I used the jetmouse keygen to unlock the map for my product id; ok, mapsource sayed it was unlocked; I cut out Italy map and trasferred to my garmin nuvi 250, but when powered on it displayed:
"No Detailed Maps Found That Support Routing"

I found that this is related to unlock so I changed a couple of time the generated key, placed .unl files, but with the same result (unlocked in mapsource, but locked img on the garmin); when I tryed to transfer only a small portion of northern Italy it worked...So I'm not sure what region caused the problem.

At the end I solved my problem by unlocking the generated img file with gimg unlocker.
Same issue for me, cut out maps are locked after saved , then I used the Fast IMG Unlocker instead on gimgunlock ....good result
I'm sure the map in mapsource was correctly unlocked (otherwise the message opening mapsource shows" ...mapset locked you need to unlock etc etc...) , but the gmapsupp.img "cropped" was still locked
Noeman.org is a great an large forum , so that issue maybe was explained several times, I'm sorry if I didn't find any comments on it ,my fault.

    Hi all,
that's not the point ,for me ....
If you unlock a mapset and you can "cut-out" a part of the map , this means that the mapset is correctly unlocked (on mapsource in PC of course)
but.... if the mapset is unl , why the cut-out (o cropped if you prefer) map saved on your Nav is currently locked?
If I understood well , all the mapset you crop in mapsource should be "unl" when you upload them into ur navi ?
Just to learn something more .... I don't wanna bore anyone with that question......
    Bye all, Umbe

If you use a program called Unlock Mapsource Directory all tiles will be unlocked to transfer by Mapsource or Mapinstall to any compatible unit.

It depends on how the MapSource product is unlocked. If it is done by unlocking its .tdb file, as is done in the links below, then the generated map gmapsupp.img is still locked. You will need to unlock the generated map again with gimgunlock (in seconds) or other tools.

There are many advantages to unlock by the .tdb method, as mentioned in the first link above. In particular, the generated map has exactly the same unmodified/intact content as that generated from a valid unlock code or GMA file. That's why it is still locked. On the other hand, other methods will generate modified TRE headers, so the generated map does not need to be unlocked again. You should know the differences and pick the method you prefer.

When you unlock for Mapsource the Mapset can be unlocked with any legitimate unlock key.

When you unlock for a device it must be an unlock key specific to the device on which the iMG is installed.

Sometimes it is easy to forget that.

If in device you don't have .gma it won't work even if you unlocked it for that gps, .unl is useless if fid is greater than 2200
