    According to the info on the Garmin website, these maps are compatible with the nüvi 50. However... when I try region 3 or region 5 in my nüvi 50 (FW 3.70), the unit reboots automatically the moment I zoom in beyond the 1.2 km level at any point on that particular map. I don't have this problem when using region 1. Have not tried any of the other 7 regions yet. Cleared Non Vol, still the same problem. Reinstalled the same FW, no change.

    When trying the region 1, 3 and 5 maps on my nüvi 2545 or Oregon 450, no problem at all.

    Could someone else with a nüvi 50 please check this?

    How can I install the maps on my computer without an external drive? I've tried to split the files with GMapTool. Then I runned the instal.bat, but I get an error mapset.img is missing...

    Is there a possibility to use the search function in basecamp?

    How can I get the SQL file and the active routing to work in Basecamp?

    @brokmaker
    The post 2 above yours gives the answer. Use BaseCamp. Don't try to make a GMAPTool preview map, search won't work properly anyway. See references in the thread, in particular catymag's Post #29. The image can be used in BC and any included search functions of the map itself should be available.

    Hi,

    You can create a virtual removable disk on your PC.

    I apologise, i missed that part of your previous post. Roger100's excellent suggestion to use a 'Virtual SD' will be recognised by BC/MI patched or unpatched and can also serve as a device 'stunt double' to fool WebUpdater, MapUpdater and GarminExpress to dl updates for fw, software & maps without risk to an actual unit. Done simply by putting a GarminDevice.xml in a Garmin folder on your Virtual SD, exactly as it works on a physically attached usb stick or sd.

    Another way to do this is to create a logical disk on your PC to use [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] but note the warning at the base of the initial post there, so don't patch current V4.0.4 of MapInstall, use the patched exe for V4.0.3 instead. To create a logical disk in Disk Management, right click the drive from which you wish to create the logical disk, choose 'shrink volume' and follow the prompts. 4GiB is usually big enough. Format the new disk in FAT32, name it GARMIN and then you can send your maps there. The clear advantage of a logical disk over a Virtual SD is that the latter has to be recreated on reboot. I use this trick as my OS drives are protected and even though the Logical Disk is created from space on a protected drive it's still fully accessible itself.

    And finally, this neat trick from Kanopus eliminates the need to use the patcher: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. Although it only mentions MapSource, it also works fine for MapInstall:

    Thanks a lot for files. I have a problem with db files with Activ Routing
    After installation on SD card (I've copied all db files to SQL folder) I can search Trials using Base Camp in all maps except 10-Finmark
    Anybody know how fix it?
