Would be nice to have other links, because netload looks like a snailfarm.

Just installed the entire country img file in \Garmin and the SQL file in \Garmin\SQL folder.
Map is working well, but when I go to Where to go? > Trails only 6 or 7 trails appear in the list. Any ideas, please ?

I think the trails that are shown depend on the location to which you've panned the map.

Does anybody have the original locked IMG file of Topo France v3 SudEst Pro (i.e., the original IMG, before any unlocking is applied), or the original locked MapSource version of Topo France v3 SudEst Pro?
(It is possible that the problem with searching for 'Named Trails' in BaseCamp is related to the unlocking of the IMG files.)
I am trying to solve this problem, so I need to test my procedure with several of the newer Garmin products with SQL (.db) files.
Please check the header information of your original locked France v3 SudEst Pro IMG file with GMapTool (to see if the name of the 010-D11xx-00.db file in the header is missing or not).
It would be nice to solve this problem.

Image files NOT contain any db files... or what you mean ?

    Headers is:
    File: J:/TOPOFrance_v3_Pro.img, length 3779002368
    Header: 29.06.2012 09:17:33, DSKIMG, XOR 00, V 3.00, Ms 0, 010-D1198-00
    Mapset: Topo France v3 Pro

    File: J:/TOPOFrance_v3_NordEst_Pro.img, length 1083342848
    Header: 29.06.2012 10:03:15, DSKIMG, XOR 00, V 3.00, Ms 0, 010-D1190-00

I know that IMG files do NOT contain any .db files. (The .db files are separate files that go into the SD card \Garmin\SQL folder.)

However, I know that I have found a way to enable searching for 'Named Trails' in BaseCamp 3.3.3 for Topo Austria v3 (original locked IMG file).
I have also tried with the Topo Austria v3 unlocked IMG file (original locked IMG file unlocked with gimgunlock), and it did not work.

Then I tried this same procedure with the locked IMG file of TransAlpin 2012 Pro (I am quite sure I downloaded it from the Zippyshare links in catymag's post #2), and it did not work.
So I checked the header of this locked IMG file of TransAlpin 2012 Pro with GMapTool, and I found that it does not contain the Garmin product number (which is also the name of the associated .db file).
My guess is that this is not an original locked IMG file of TransAlpin 2012 Pro (i.e., some unlocking or other processing has been applied, as indicated by the missing Garmin product number in the header).

Now I am trying to find out why my procedure is working for some 'locked' IMG files, and why it is not working for others.
My guess is that my procedure is only working with original locked IMG files (and that it does not work with the 'locked' IMG file of TransAlpin 2012 Pro from catymag's post #2, because this IMG file is not an original locked IMG files as it could be found on an original Garmin SD card or created from the original locked MapSource version).

In order to test my procedure, I am trying to find more original locked IMG files for my testing.
(I think my procedure is only good if it works with all - or at least most - original locked IMG files with associated SQL files.)

I have an IMG file of France v3 Sud Est Pro. It seems to be unlocked, and my procedure does not work with it.
I checked the header of this (probably unlocked) IMG file of France v3 Sud Est Pro with GMapTool, and I found that it does not contain the Garmin product number (which is also the name of the associated .db file):
    Header: 28.07.2012 11:48:45, DSKIMG, XOR 00, V 3.00, Ms 0
Mapset: Topo France v3 Sud Est Pro

Since my procedure is not working with this (probably unlocked) IMG file of France v3 Sud Est Pro, I am trying to find an original locked IMG file (as it could be found on an original Garmin SD card or created from the original locked MapSource version) to test my procedure on.

Yes, this is a pretty long post (I tried to explain the situation accurately).
Please ignore this post, if it is too long for your taste.

PS: I tried to download the France Nord-Est v3 Pro locked IMG file from your post #74. I tried for several days, without success (netload.in is extremely slow with frequent connection losses - it did not work for me).

The only reason why you dont see the map product number in TransAlpin 2012 Pro I guess is because the friend who sent me probably run on that file this tool:

I have not tried this tool (so I don't know what this tool does - or does not do - to an IMG file).

However, I have tried to enable searching for 'Named Trails' in BaseCamp 3.3.3 for the TransAlpin 2012 Pro IMG file (most likely from your post #2 in the TransAlpin 2012 Pro thread).

Despite my best efforts, I could not get searching for 'Named Trails' in BaseCamp 3.3.3 to work for this TransAlpin 2012 Pro IMG file.
My guess is that BaseCamp checks if the original locked file has been modified, and that it does not enable searching for 'Named Trails' if it finds modifications.
Of course, this is just a guess, and I am trying to do more testing to find out what is going on, and what has to be done to enable searching for 'Named Trails' in BaseCamp.

When you have it working for one locked IMG file and not working for another (using the same procedure), you have to investigate the possible differences in the IMG files you are using.
And this is what I am trying to do.

From what I can tell after reading the relevant posts, searching for trails seems to work with unlocked IMG files in the Garmin devices (but not in BaseCamp - in BaseCamp it seems to work only with the unmodified original locked IMG files).
Since route planning is better done in BaseCamp (on a much bigger screen), I am trying to find a way to enable searching for 'Named Trails' in BaseCamp.
