    What device do you own - only Oregon x50, Montana and GPSMAP62 with the last Firmware are supported.
    And only one db-file can be used at the same time on GPS, and the trail-database has nothing to do with active routing.
    These are two different things.

    @dirtbikermp3: db-file is trail-database I assume ? (xxx-xxxxx-xx.db)
    You write that the trail-database has nothing to do with active routing. I think You mean the routing on the map.
    In my opinion the database is necessary for searching. I can't give it a try on a modern gps (i don't own one), but in Basecamp I can search for a Trail with a name (in dutch: Paden met naam zoeken) and use that kind of trails in my routes (single or combined as a part of my own trails).
    When I rename the db-file in the addition-map (of the gmap installation) I can't search in Basecamp for Trails with a name: Basecamp cann't find any Trail. I guess that will be the same situation on a suitable modern gps that supported these kinds of maps.

    Thank you very much for the info about the ActiveRouting with the DB file. I want to share my experience: on the thread "ActiveRouting .db file - general discussion" I have found that the HEX-editor for the TransAlpin 2012 Pro works, but not for the Topo Deutschland 2012 Pro. I have tried severeal times, the GMAPtool was not showing the "Header: 26.05.2012 00:06:44, DSKIMG, XOR 00, V 5.00, Ms 0, 010-D0752-01", just "Header: 26.05.2012 00:06:44, DSKIMG, XOR 00, V 5.00, Ms 0,", the ActiveRouting tab was visible in the BaseCamp, but not active. Then after several hours I have tried the

    program, and after that the Topo Deutschland 2012 Pro had the ActiveRoute function (but the GMAPtool still was not showing the "Header: 26.05.2012 00:06:44, DSKIMG, XOR 00, V 5.00, Ms 0, 010-D0752-01", just "Header: 26.05.2012 00:06:44, DSKIMG, XOR 00, V 5.00, Ms 0,"). Also I have the Garmin TransAlpin 2012 Pro + Topo Deutschland 2012 Pro on a single 4GB microSD card, and the active routing is working for Both (in BaseCamp, I have not tested in a GPS unit, two separate IMG files, gmapsupp.img and gmapsup1.img). This is strange, because I have read that if two maps on a single microSD card have an overlap (like this two), then only one DB file will be loaded.

    Hi,

    Active routing works for both maps in Basecamp, but will only work for one map when you put microSD into your GPS. Try and see !

    Hi,

    New Montana firmware allows several .db files in the same SQL folder to be read on GPS.
    I tried with Topo France v3, Topo Germany v3, and Topo trek Map Italia v3 : the whole three maps trails were displayed when "trails" in "where to go" was selected.

    Nice that Garmin fixed it!
    Hopefully they will update other models too.
