Can't imagine any reason for that...

Has anyone found a way yet to get the missing Argentina map info back into this map?

Default What missing data? There is no missing data, just intentionally some less detailed areas!

    @ticker2

Garmin WorldMap v5.00 and v4.00 is built and compiled that way by Garmin. So in that sense there is no "missing" data to get back for Argentina regarding those products. You could easily read that earlier in this thread and also verify with the info link for Garmin that's provided in post #1. Some parts of Argentina have better coverage in v4.0 compared to v5.0.

Garmin interactive map viewer with WorldMap v5.00:
    Code:
Please Login or Register to see the links
Check the map viewer link and compare with the map in this thread. You will get the same result for Argentina (and all other areas). This means that nothing is "missing" in this release here in this thread compared to what Garmin sells as Garmin WorldMap v5.0.
Why Argentina is more or less uncharted area in WorldMap v5.0 is possibly another interesting question?

You will have to use another map to find better coverage for Argentina.

Objection: as you can see here

Argentina was well included in WM4.
I can still see no reason why Argentina is 'out of the world' now (hold on - maybe a son of Madame Thatcher is responsible for the cartography? ;-))

As for the blank part in Argentina, note following disclaimer on the Garmin website:

External country boundaries and other data as depicted in the map(s) may be neither correct nor authentic. If a country disputes the location or accuracy of certain features in our data, we may remove the disputed data from the product until the dispute is resolved. There may be voids in this product for this reason.
So maybe the UK does not only claim the Falkland Islands, but (part of) the main land of Argentina too...

As for the answer to question #1 (is it possible to install on SD card), I don't agree. MapInstall creates a gmapsupp.img file which works fine from SD when put into the Garmin folder. See screen shots below, taken on a nüvi 350:

The file in post n1 is an .exe file you cant transfer it directly in sd and have it installed in gps, I thought the user asked for this.
It's a Mapsource installation you must install in MS and then transfer it in sd or gps as on point 2.
    That's all.
