    Garmin says:
Displays roads and names in the Cyrillic alphabet.
But this map uses LATIN alphabet. Size of the img File is 250MB.

Map contains both CYRILLIC and LATIN alphabet. On screen you can see alphabet for selected locale of device.

Part of "white" region on coverage map have more detailed coverage than Russian map from local distributor of Navicom especially for Northwestern regions.

Both? Is it an unicode map? My 60CSx obviously cannot display cyrillic letters, but this map works fine with names in English transcription. With Navicom's map it shows all names in the wrong codepage which is almost useless.

It's really obvious an unicode map. So I think what 60CSx with support of Russian language will do not use Cyrillic too.

I didn't know that the 60CSx can display unicode maps. I tried the [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] and it works. Thats great

Is this map useful for you? In northern Russia there are many unpaved roads which are shown as minor. But some of them are really important, because they are the only road in a large area.

Once a reservation what I am developer but not user! The first I find route by myself and then make routes for user with Garmin maps and device. For first task I use any soft and device not excluding the very big wheels on auto and legs, hands and belly on me. So I know way and only then see it on Garmin maps in my Karelia and nearest regions.

It all depends on the location but in main.
    1) Navicom have more detailed map. Navteq have less detailed but more accurate. There are not all unpaved roads on the Navteq but on existing roads the route is more accurate. I often lose route on the Navicom but there are no recalculating on the Navteq in same place.
    2) The address search on the Navteq is more perfect than Navicom. In Petrozavodsk the Navteq find almost 100 percent of address but Navicom find only half of its. Even fuel stations is named on the Navteq what is very important for Russian fuel quality choice.
    3) In opposite your mention the Navteq is very well balanced with respect to minor roads. Navicom absolutely does not have notion about that outside of Moscow. It is normal for Russia!

In any case all Russian maps of NorthWest is very weak. I know the hundreds of places what is not correspond to reality with a very long time. So it is very good to combine any available map sources.

    Giomen, thanks for your remarks.

I tried some search and find, including finding address and routing and did not encounter problems with my 60CSx. It even finds address in Vladivostok (but routing to this fails). In find menu there are latin and cyrillic names, but my unit shows the cyrillic names in the wrong codepage.

In contrary to this, with the above mentioned unicode CNEU address find fails.

Read all thread! In some regions map is bad but in some regions is very good. I find on this map many case with more correct routing vs Russian Navicom map especially in cities!
