I know this peaty well. I'm think i'm not a noob in Garmin. But i'm updating my device trough LifeTime Updater and i'm sure that Garmin checking the verssion of the installed map. This is the reason that i don't want to mix the maps. And there is a certificate file. But i still don't understand, how CX can work with the unlocked map and don't work with a certificate map?
    Thanks.

It seems that the members who understand this are not getting the message over to the ones who don't. The basics are:

    * 'Small' CXs are not issued by Garmin. They make the 'full' CXs which are 'stand alone' and work without a corresponding CN or CNU.

    * The small ones have been made by Vanish90 and the latest available is 2012.40 in Post #1. The small ones will add advanced pedestrian mode in your compatible unit only if you have the corresponding matching CN, which usually means the same series..

    * Sure, some mismatched series combinations of small or full CX will work in some cities with a different CN series. No difference in map info = no conflicts & no problems. As i've said before: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ].

    * Full CX are selectable/de-selectable. Small CX are not. Small CX were made for use with CN only maps, see Post #1.

    * If you want to be sure you have a working CX regardless of whether you have a matching CN (genuine or unlocked with unlocker) simply use the full CX and deselect your mismatched CN/CNU in map info.

Maybe Vanish90 has not been able to obtain the 2013.10 CX maps. If someone has them and will upload them maybe he or someone else with the tools and skills can make the small ones to add cx features to 2013.10 CN's. 2013.20 series is due soon anyway, let's hope that this doesn't start the fuss all over again

Of course I referred to the full version of the CX 2012.40, not to small one...
Maybe this thing has been misunderstood :Animated71:

I can confirm that i'm using a full CX. But if the CN2013.10 NTU installed, CX is not working.

Misunderstood yes, but it was posts like yours #46 & mine #49 which should have cleared it up. I only expanded on it because in spite of the correct info being posted the confusion continued ........lol!

Yep, a CNU not happy with a CX. Read Post #1 again for the explanation. And bam-bam's Post #57 which gives you Kor@l's lifeline to use CNU as you're wanting.

Ok - I agree - may be you are right... But a few months ago i just used both CNEU 2012.40 NTU and Full CX2012.40 without any problems. The troubles start after upgrading CN to 2013.10. Then CX disapear and i cannot find a way to make working again except to delete CN 2013.10.

Simple solution for you: Install Full CX2012.40 on Nuvi and CNE 2013.10 at the micro sd card.
When you need Full CX2012.40 remove the card on which the CNE 2013.10 and problem solved

    Try this:
    SD:\Garmin\gmapsupp.img(NT 2013.10)
    SD:\Map\CX Europe.img(2012.40)
    SD:\Map\CX Europe.UNL

    Thanks Kor@l

So appreciate... The main problem is not CX not work. It's WHY doesn't work? this made me crazy... I just want to know (find) what is wrong.
I'm from Bulgaria and using the Russian tracker too. I'll read all the post there and will try to find the answer. If i found - for sure will post it here.
Thanks to all the guys involved and sorry for the spam

    @gandalftgray
Different experiences are being reported by members regarding the use of mismatched versions of full/smallCX's and CN/CNU's. It seems there's not even any consistency as to specific model ranges that have the kind of conflicts which you have had. As well as the reports in here, there's this new report from the CityXplorer for 37xx series thread, for instance:

On the 2595LMT I have 2013.10 Europe UNI version and both work together no problems at all

All on SD card for each GPS Unit

    Asprin624
Maybe in some cases the answer could be as simple as having neither the CX or the CN/U on the unit itself, but having both only on the sd. Or in other cases it could be that certain model & fw combinations simply just handle the map info conflicts better than others. Or in still others whether or not the CN/CNU has been unlocked with an unlocker. Or indeed whether it's CN or CNU.... Bl**dy H*ll! It drives me crazy too.

I appreciate that you have LTM CNU on your unit's memory and maybe you really don't want to mess with that, however as you'd be aware it is no problem to move the CNU *.img, *.unl & *.gma files to an sd because they will still work for your unit. Maybe you've already tried CNU & CX together on sd, either way let us know if it works for you as Asprin264 reported above. (See PS)

Another workaround that might succeed (if you want to leave the LTM CNU on the unit), would be to deselect it before you plug in an sd with the mismatched fullCX.

If neither works, the other 'blunt instrument' workaround method which will work of course is to have your mismatched fullCX and CNU on different sd's and just use whichever, but i'm sure you know that and want something more convenient...(See PS)

I like to solve mysteries as much as the next bloke and agree that this one seems calculated to drive anyone crazy. Ultimately it still just comes down to this: Mismatched combination may or may not work. Don't mix versions and there's no conflict, therefore no problem. Having said that though, if i was in your position i'd also want to know the answer.

I hope you find it. Good luck.

Did you try the koral CNU as bam-bam asked?

PS: You may have to have a detail map on the unit memory for things to work. If so this is both legal and pretty small: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. That links to an exe, but here's the image in case you need it: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
