    Hi,

I installed scottish img file in Basecamp with Gmaptool.
I already got last version installed (FID 2043).
I haven't seen any differences yet. Are there any ?

You can't install raster maps with GMapTool. Copy this map on removable device (SD-card, USB-stick, virtual device) in folder Garmin and you will see all raster map details in BaseCamp.

Raster maps or combined raster/vector maps like this, never will be available as MapSource version.

The differences between v2 and v3 are situated in the Vector-map part of the map. This layer provides the autorouting functionality and can be compared with Garmin City Navigator (which gets updates 4 times a year). Raster maps don't get updates frequently just because it's a hell of a job to create and edit them.

    Hi,

After copying the scottish map on SD-card, I saw the map in BaseCamp.

In comparison with the Gmaptool installation, the SD-card map offers two advantages :
    - adress finding.
    - 3D-view.

But I can't print the map with SD-card map whereas I can with Gmaptool one.

Furthermore, in both maps, geographic area finding (for example, when I look for summits of raster map) does not seem to work. Is it the same in original Garmin stuff ?

To print you can use one of the numerous screen dump programs.
I always use this little free gem:
