Hey guys I just figured out how to get VUS511L 2012.1 (V 13.51) verison free. First format a SD Card (4Gb or more) to fat 32 then Get its Sd card ID From a Garmin device (ie. NUVI) plug that data into jetmouse keygen with PID:1 FID:2463 RGID:4 VedId:28 create a Unl file from the key generated and put it into a new folder and name it GARMIN then copy that folder to the formatted card created earlier Open your web browser and go to mygarmin.com create an account and download the communicator plugin plug in the sd card and it willl let you download 2012 for free due to the new free chart update promotion going on. Remember you only actually need the Unl file on the card for this to work no imgs needed!

    Cheers,
    Zack

Hmmm.. Now that's very interesting. I had assumed that the "free" update on the Garmin server was offered based on info hidden away inside the GMA file. I guess I was incorrect.

This means we can spoof the Garmin server into offering a free update at almost anytime for any BlueChart product.

Now if we can narrow it down even more to figure out the key data that they look at it will be even better. Or maybe we need all of the data above. Does it look at the FID, or the FID AND the Unlock file key or what ?

In any event... good find Zack.

You only need to create a UNL file using jetmouse keygen using the SD card Id and you must use the FID:2463 and PID:1 to get the free 2012 update. The regionID and vendorID are probably not needed but I have not confirmed this.

Important the free update will only work 1 year from the blue chart release date since their promotion rules only apply to cards less than 1 year old since V 11.5 Came out in August 2011 this will work until August 2012!

I believe it's only within 6 months of purchase... not 1 year. (Because they update every 6 months now.)

The server will offer the free update only if the version being updated is the next most recent version. You can still update if it's older, but you have to do it manually thru Garmin and verify your purchase date.

But on a good note... if the version is older, you can update at about a 60% discount online thru the server.

    From the Garmin Site:

    QUOTE: "New Chart Guarantee

Customers who recently purchased a new preprogrammed BlueChart g2 or g2 Vision microSD™ card are entitled to 1 FREE update¹ of the newest version of charts. Updated charts will be for the same (or equivalent²) region as the original purchase.

¹Limit 1 free update per card. New Chart Guarantee valid within 6 months of purchase. Visit Map Updates to determine eligibility.
²Equivalent region to be determined at Garmin's sole discretion. Customer will have opportunity to view available coverage before making decision to purchase and/or update.":UNQUOTE

Here is a link to the site in case you want to read the entire update/guarantee policy:

    Catymag,

Where is the Vendor ID ? I assume each and every retailer/seller/vendor is assigned an ID ?

And in the Region ID is shown as 4, 28. I think JM only accepts a single digit for the Region ID doesn't it ? ( I guess use 4 or whatever the first number is listed in the Region ID.)

How are the Regions broken down ? N.America, S. America, Eastern Eu, Asia ?
