Nope, redownloaded the 3060050 for the third time and still no junction view. Well I don't want to sound like I'm correcting you or anything, but I made the mistake before and put 3060030A.JCV and also D3153030A.JCV in the same directory x:\garmin\jcv and junction view worked properly for me and I also noticed as i was rereading the steps to enable features, I'm missing .system folder that contains the gupdate.gcd, I don't know if I ever had it, but it's not there anymore even when i go to show hidden files. So I don't know if that has anything to do with it not working anymore but please if that file is needed for Junction view to work, could you possibly point me in the right direction in getting that file or the files necessary to make Junction view work. Also forgot to include that my SW is 5.80 before I was using 5.40 if any of this matters, please help. Thanks

If you're missing the .System directory then how is your nüvi functioning? By default .System is on virtually every nüvi unit and was on my 1300 from day one. It's a required directory. One thought comes to mind, and that is the map itself. Is your 1300 a LM model and thus you are getting the maps from Garmin?

Yes I have the LM Model and I get my maps from garmin, could this be the issue?

Yes I have the LM Model and I get my maps from garmin, could this be the issue? If so how do I fix it? Sorry didn't mean to double post but I went and reinstalled the 2012.40 map and it deleted the 3060050A.JCV from my JCV folder, the first time I installed the new maps both of my JCV files were still in the folder, so I'm wondering why would it delete the new JCV but not the old ones? Does this mean i have to do a hard reset, then update my garmin, and then do the enabling all over? What would you suggest, I am so noob at this.

I'm thinking a hard reset is in order for you, especially if you have no .System folder. The firmware is the source of your problem, not the maps.

ok so when I do a hard reset, do you suppose I update everything before I try out the enabling or enable first then update. Oh and this didn't work on windows 7, I had to do it on windows xp to get it to work, but I don't have xp anymore, so I don't know if it's going to work again.

Ok so I did a hard reset and my firmware still says 5.8 and LA and Speed Limit Indicator is still there. Where should I go from here? Well this is getting off the topic relevant to this so I'm going to post my problem in the other thread I guess.

Ok so sorry for all the runarounds, my JCV does work but it only shows up in some areas and it seems like my unit is reading off of the file D3153050A.JCV that was put in there with the update, so my question is how do I get my unit to read the big JCV file instead of the small one. There are is no JCV folder, hidden or not, it's still not in my unit to find the smaller JCV file.

The 757MB JCV file needs to go on the MicroSD card, in the directory I gave you back in post #27. You will have to create that directory on the MicroSD card, and there may well be one in the .System directory on the device, which is hidden.

I have created the diretory you gave me on the MicroSD and I tried to find the JCV folder in the directory on the device but my unit has neither the JCV or .system folder that you mentioned, even when I go to show hidden files.

Do you have extensions (e.g. .DOC, .TXT) hidden? If you do, unhide them and look again.

Thanks for removing a certain post. OMG I finally figured it out after reading thread, Garmin units directories, characteristics and files. All this time I had to uncheck Hide protected operating system files (recommended) and found the internal JCV folder to the device. I feel like such a complete fool, thank you for all your help, everything is up and running now.

Thank you again for all your help and putting up with a noob like me

Any chance of splitting the JCV discussion between Noobvi and myself into a separate thread so as to not pollute this thread any further?
