I know I need the GMAPPROM.IMG 1.60GB file and the gmap3d.img 177,7MB 3DMaps file and the D3060050A.JCV 757,1MB LaneAssistFull = Junction View file, but what about all those other files? I could really use your help. Thank you.
Look at your Garmin device.xml in Garmin folder and you'll see which files its supports and their paths.
I dont think you need traffic trends, neither ASR etc

I just purchased a Garmin 3790T which was 2011.30 maps and I would like to update everything to the latest version. I saw all the files in post 1 and I know which ones I can use but my problem is I don't know which ones to delete from my unit. They have different numbers and it's confusing. It's easy to put all the downloaded files from post 1 onto the unit but which ones do I remove. I hope I am explaining this right. Or perhaps someone can tell me exactly which of the files in post 1 I should transfer to my 3790 and what files they will be replacing. Thank you ahead of time.

Register your product to garmin site and will have 90days free map update, maybe just in time for 2013.10 version too. Use garmin updater to download and update your device, it will delete and update all the right files.

It looks like D3080050A.JCV file is non existant. I tried
    Code:
Please Login or Register to see the links
and also search Garmins website, so only the small and full files seem to be available. Can anyone confirm?

Also is it posible to split the JD3080050A.JCV file and create a custom one?

    TIA

I guess that '8' is a typo and you meant 'split the D3060050A.JCV file' which is the big 757.1MB file for NA 2012.40. Never heard of split being done, or even aware of any computer program capable of accessing the jcv files....

    Thanks catymag for answering

gmapsupp.ing is fine cause I tried it in another GPS but I found the problem
I had uploaded new 2012.40 partial map to GPS from mapsource from PC because of
memory. Guess there was a conflict. reinstalled 2012.30 map again and everything
seems to work. I'm wondering when I updated GPS with updater it prompted me to install
new firmware. could that have something to do with that. Cause I installed part maps lots
of times before and everything worked fine.
