Default Official and Venus Series City Navigator China NT 2011.11 ENG in PinYin

Requirements: Any Garmin device and software supporting NT maps

The official Garmin China maps have artificial shift (coordinate deviation) added for national security reasons. Using these maps on normal GPS devices or software will not display your actual location on the map. Instead, you will be a few hundred meters away from your actual location.

Venus is a series of maps derived from the official Garmin China maps but with shifts corrected. Nothing but the coordinates are changed, so all road, POI info, as well as routing, searching capabilities remain intact. Saved waypoints, routes, tracks will have no shift problems too. These maps can be used on any regular Garmin GPS devices and software as other maps. However, some maps are in Chinese language only and require Chinese support on your device to display and search in Chinese.

    Disclaimers of Venus Series Maps:
    1. No guarantee or warranty is given. Use at your own risk.
    2. The correction is not perfect yet. A few places may have a gap between roads.

    For this 2011.11 map:
    a. Map is locked.
    b. Map ID is 2111.
    c. All road and POI names are in English (HanYu PinYin).

Thanks, I am trying to use the Venus map.
Trying to unlock with Garmin unlocker fails with error messages "...is not a detailed map", same occurs in the Chinese version.

Thank you, Fast IMG Unlocker did the trick.

I renamed the unlocked file to gmapprom.img, put it into the Garmin directory, and all is ok.
Before, I had tried with keygen, but my Garmin XT would not recognize the map.

1- I noticed both maps size after extracting is the same. Is that true? I mean both maps with and without offset have the same size?

I posted another post asking for the latest gmap3d.img of China and for unknown reason, the post was deleted??!!?
    Thank you

As said in the opening post, only coordinates are changed in the corrected map which are done by direct patching. That's why the size does not change and all other features remain intact.

Don't know. No one has shared the English version of JCV so far.

The Chinese version of JCV cannot be used with English map, both 2011.11. Just tested and verified.

Ok Thanks, I also tried and wasn't succesfull but was thinking I dis something wrong. I copied the Chinese 2011.11 file onto the SD in \garmin\JCV and in the device system\JCV folder but no luck in getting it to work. I have the latest firmware in the Nuvi.

Question: what was the last known version of the city navigator China in pinyin (English) that actually has an English JCV file?
