    @diamiasdas

    It's not a specially good idea to use MapSource for viewing reverse engineered BlueChart maps. Only reason would be for printing because most charts wouldn't print when using HomePort. The MapSource gMapTool/cGPSmapper variant is useless for transferring the map back to a GPS.

    Try Garmin HomePort instead if you want to browse the map on a PC or Mac. No need for duplicated map files in MapSource and as IMG.

    The answer to your question is already in post #1.
    Yes, as all BlueChart g2 and BlueChart g2 Vision charts are IMG-files sold as downloads, on memory cards and in some cases on Garmin proprietary DataCards.

    @9ABuyer

    It's better to use some smaller area from a HEU***R region. I would not recommend to use [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] to split and [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] but you can try if you're out of other options.
    What chart regions are you interested in?

    As long as there is no "G2 Regular" map available, you'd best use the classic BlueChart Atlantic 2008.5 to make an applicable image for your data card. This version is not too old for most regions - after my experience only in the Baltic Sea several buoys have changed.
