Just installed 2011.30, as gmapprom.img + added GMAP3D.img + ASR files, after reboot all works fine, except some of the voice commands cannot be use anymore - are the included ASR files for english only?

    pallexl,

Far as I know they are English. Also, might they be different for 8xx vs 37xx nuvi's? I do not know.

The SRX file and the ASR files are for all supported languages and all supported Garmin devices. One SRX and a bunch of ASR files are updated with the RMU package for the map update.
We also had a similar discussion before about the SRD files that are language specific.

There's no updates of SRD-files during a RMU download for City Navigator NT. The RMU package may contain one updated SRX-file and several updated ASR-files.

SRD-files are handled by WebUpdater which scans the "GarminDevice.xml" file to find out what needs to be updated. I've made a test with a USB stick and a copy of a nüvi 3790T directory structure. Just some small editing in the GarminDevice.xml makes WebUpdater to suggest updated SRD-files.

SRD section in GarminDevice.xml from a nüvi 3790:

Lowered the major version number for English_American.srd, English_British.srd and Italiano_.srd:
    Code:

WebUpdater result running with GarminDevice.xml having the lowered versions for 3 SRD files:

    Ballebar,

Then this means that the ASR and SRX files as found herein are for both 8xx and 37xx units? Only the JCV files then would be different between theses two nuvi's? Another forum indicated that the jcv file herein D2339030A is 1) Photoreal and works only on newer nuvis and 2) it also works on 7x5 units. Can not confirm this as yet.

    Hello Ipmark,

The Benelux 2011.30_UIO_MU on your DLC folder linkage is dead, please send another new DLC for the Benelux.

However some paranoid countries or ISPs block certain file hosters. Megaupload for example is blocked in some Islamic or censor loving countries due to their other Megaporn & Megavideo sites.

Maybe your ISP "PCCW Limited" in Hong Kong blocks parts of your internet connection?
    Code:

You may be right Ballebar, but unfortunately PCCW was the only provider I could log onto at Hong Kong airport, but at least it is free. I will try the links again when I am back in the USA or maybe from India.
Not so good to know you guys record IPs and ISPs though!

    FALSE ALARM!
Links checked and working with JDownloader. Yet another time consuming check that ends up in total waste of time.
Please learn how to parse the message "Temporarily unavailable" at Megaupload. All of the popular file hosting sites have limitations for free users and they limit usage during congested peak hours. Just leave JDownloader active and it will monitoring the download links and starts the download when there's a download slot available. That's pretty much the main idea with JDownloader, start it and let the application do the work for you with entering capcha etc.
