Is there a simpler way to install IMG map into nuvi 1250? like directly save unlocked img map (unlock using "fast img unlocker" that you provide) into "Map" folder of nuvi 1250.

    Thanks.

Dont use Fast IMG Unlocker in sd , it works but better not to do it , use FIU on pc and unlocked maps always in sd-
    SAFER for your Nuvi-

I used FIU in PC to unlock the map, then saved the unlocked map to "Map" folder (which sits in device memory not external memory). It worked because my device recognises the map (shown in "Info" under map settings).

However, I've just arrived in China and I have been trying but my Nuvi 1250 couldn't acquire satellite... Anything I can do to fix this?

    Thanks.

Btw, just to add on after some thought... Could the fog here have caused my device not able to locate satellite??

When you change completely your location, the receiver needs more time to get them, go in an open space, without obstacles and start it- may be it will need 5 -10 mins to acquire satellites , but it will be just for the first time

If your device will have a problem and you will need to send it in assistance wont be nice to have an unlocked map with FIU in internal memory, better to use sds- Even because ,if you will met a problematic map ,it can block your gps- No problem with an sd, you can remove it-

    Hi all,

I recently buy Garmin gsp in Beijing, but it comes with the map in Chinese. I visited few shops and they have no idea to give me the map in Pinyin. I desperately need a map in Pinyin. I download the gmapbmap.img & gmapsupp.img from this post, however no idea how to make it works.

Anyone can help me out step by step how to work it out?

    Thanks,CP

I just finished my China trip... Catymag is right. I switched on the gps and held it by the window side in my hotel room for about 3-5 mins, it acquired satellite eventually!! My Garmin worked just fine for the entire trip. I even used it to monitor the speed of the new bullet train in China! (See attached photo that I have taken)

However, when it comes to direction navigation (pedestrian mode), I'm a bit disappointed because some of the directions it showed me were inaccurate. I had to ask the local or look for sign post to walk differently from what was shown on Garmin to reach my destination. Could it be because I have not installed the latest China map??

    Hello All

    I downloaded the files above
    - extracted them
    - used gmaptool for creating mapsource img files
    - used cgpsmapper to install the maptiles in mapsource
    - used garmin batchunlocker to unlock the city navigator china NT
Everything was succesfully except that mapsource is not showing any maps (blank map)
The size of the extracted img files in mapsource is 862MB, so there is info.
    What did I do wrong?
    Who can help me?
    Thanks in advance

    kind regards
