    What I don't understand is:
    If this 'complete 3.64 GiB ISO file' is a 'copy of the DVD' (as sold by Garmin), why are the maps 'NOT locked'?
    Would Garmin sell a DVD with maps that are NOT locked?
    If the maps are really 'NOT locked', is this 'complete 3.64 GiB ISO file' then a 'copy of the DVD' (NOT as sold by Garmin, but modified so that the maps are NOT locked).
    Please clarify.
    Thanks!

    @GPSFranz

    It's common for Garmin TOPO maps to be without implementation of the locking mechanism. The earlier models of Garmin GPS receivers don't even support locked maps.

    Some Garmin map products that's NOT locked:
    • Garmin World Map
    • Roads & Recreation
    • MetroGuide (except MetroGuide Australia)
    • Garmin U.S. TOPO 24K v2
    • Garmin U.S. TOPO National Parks 24K v3
    • Garmin TOPO U.S 2008
    • Garmin United States Waterways & Lights
    • Garmin Recreational Lakes with Fishing Hot Spots
    • Garmin U.S. Inland Lakes
    • Garmin BlueChart Inland Lakes Vision
    • ...

    @Ballebar

    Many thanks for the info (and the excellent maps, of course).
    No problems encountered with download and installation.

    I'm new to this. When I first clicked on the btjunkie link it took me to a site to download some mpeg4 viewer (Xvid). I canceled that and tried again - it worked the 2nd time but the download status in my BitTorrent program is "stopped". Nothing is downloading. What am I doing wrong?

    Great map set - on Garmin site it says it includes more than just the WA, OR, CA, NV maps - is there more to this?

    I'm in the process of downloading now. Started last night, that was 9 hours ago. Have 23% completed. Will check back on it later.

    Is there perhaps also a download-link without torrent available?

    It looks as though the btjunkie.org link doesn't have any seeders at the moment. perhaps if some of you that have it could possibly seed for a bit?
