    Hi guys,

I am very very new to this.. I have a GPSMAP 276c with the old bluchart and wanted to update the maps to G2 Aegean+Marmara. In fact the 276 dows not take S/D cards but the garmin data cards. It has no built in memory and its not possible to load maps to its initial memory but it can be connected to a PC with a usb. On the other hand, the specs mention that it does not hav 3D map view but that it is compatible with Bluechart G2.

Is it possible to update my old data card or I need to buy a new one? it seems tha there is no bigger than 512mb..

You can't use G2Vision maps with your device. Use classic BlueChart Atlantic2008.5 or if available BlueChart G2 maps (without "Vision"). For updating your data card you must have the USB data card programmer. It's true, there are no bigger data cards than 512MB.

For GPSMAP 276c it's better to use the BlueChart g2 HEU015R instead.

Most units that are compatible with BlueChart g2 can use BlueChart g2 Vision also. It will just be a lot of wasted memory storage for extra Vision-features that the unit will disregard in that situation. In your case it will fail anyway due to file size > 512 MB for VEU015R.
Your best approach is the HEU015R v2011.5 (185 MB) that's just 2 months old since the release by Garmin.

Garmin sells HEU718L - Mediterranean Sea v2011.5 on Garmin Data Card. That map is also posted [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] but it's 558 MB in file size. Maybe Garmin have some special cards for their g2 charts or they compile a special smaller release that fits 512 MB cards.
Some enthusiasts have successfully built upgraded Garmin Data Cards by putting extra NAND circuits into the existing card case.

Hello, do you have any idea if the new version is available?
    Code:

    version 2012.1 ?

    Thanks in advanced guys!

Hello all! I need the VEU015R - Aegean Sea & Sea of Marmara for my marine device. At the moment I have the 2010 version. But i have seen that now there is a newer version 2012.1.

    1) Is there any change log to see what are the differences?
    2) Is 2012.1 version available?
    3) Why the downloded map has a different version from the sd map (as they appear in garmin site)? Is there any difference between them?

I'm really lost through all these matter regarding garmin :Animated48:

    Thanks a lot mates! :Anim10:

    Hi f_fani,

I don't know what's the difference between the two issues here, but what I found with G2 Vision charts of different issues is that only the additional information (cartographic of land, photos) is improved, while the navigational actuality (new marinas e.g.) does not change with exception of the (mostly minimal) correction of the official paper charts. So if you want to go sailing, take the 2010 issue. In 99.9% percent of situations you will have no lack in navigational information.
