Try with older version of Mobile PC (5.00.60) [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
New version freezes with some maps.

The problem may be the map, I installed 5.00.60PC version of the program, the South African maps on the PC folder, or enter a program interface, the screen is still black, I used the other maps, such as Singapore Malaysia map, map of the European 2011.10, North American 2011.10 maps are quite normal

So, stupid question, but in the past I have just copied the GMAPSUPP.IMG to my Garmin (I have a few), is this possible with the above ? Is there an "unlocked" Version ?

I told you so because I had maps that were blocking 5.00.70 with black screen on startup, but working with 5.00.60
If map is not working with version 5.00.60 than problem is map, or just with archiving program used to unpack archive.
Do not unpack RAR and ZIP files with 7-zip, use WinRar or WinZip.

    Hi

Ok I've downloaded all the files i've also downloaded the mapsetoolkit and the maps, I open the mapsetoolkit and all the the things like you have in the picture, not sure what to do next.

I have also installed mapsourse and I'm not sure what to do with it either.

    Thanks.

Ok, so why Southern Africa map for use on the GARMIN C320 will be locked out of my program interface? map to an SD card, open GPS, is stuck in the State of the progress bar

Sorry, I'm reading this 10th time, but I'm not sure what are you trying to say.
I understand that this map (Southern Africa) is locking your Garmin C320
If it is so, problem is in map (again)
Try to download again and unpack with WinRar or WinZip as I told you before

OK -- first --to have a map in Mapsource you must have Mapsource installed
    so install it
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
    patch it
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
put the map folder in C:\Garmin
open mapsetoolkit and following the posted pic fill the tags
    then click install.
after that open mapsource and you'll have the unlocked map installed and you'll be able to transfer it where you want

Have you the maps unlocked in mapsource?
Garmin Mobile PC is not using maps installed in MapSource, but needs gmapsupp.img like any other Garmin device or Garmin XT, so You have to export them from MapSource, menu Transfer -> Send To Device... and choose Garmin Mobile PC as output device.

wow, the East Africa 1.1 is much better than the 1.0 version. Now i know, that there are fuel stations in Tabora (Tanzania). Hope they have fuel as well. This, i will know for sure in August.

For the rest of Southern Africa, please check the Tracks4Africa maps. They have additional useful information (road conditions, POI's), even if they are quite old (2008).
