I haven't5 been able to get this to work for Garmin streepilot c330. says I can't update the maps. Tried it two ways...
    1. Through mapsource, with the map unlocked, it says it can't install.
    2. Putting the file in the garmin folder on an SD card and putting the card in the GPS and turning it on...it doesn't pass the garmin load screen.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks

Try to read this (mapsource and IMGs versions tips)
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
if you have further problems, try to be more precise, eg. how did you rename the img file in sd?
Which maps do you have in internal memory (name?) etc
Why Mapsource cant install: which error?

Hi caty, ive followed links from old threads and evenetually wound up here, I successfully installed 2012.20 upated maps on one gps following similar guide, now i want to update a 2nd GPS and followed same procedure, got the unit id of the new gps (nuvi 760, same as the other one which worked), pasted id and map id to unlock generator and pasted the code to gmapsupp.unl, transferred selected maps to unit which create gmasupp.img but now when I turn on the gps, it says "can't unlock maps" the maps I put on were originally unlocked on mapsource using the code generated with the first units code ID and map id, but I've done this in previous years by just copying the new unlock code for the specific unit and unit id, to a new gmapsupp.unl file and it has always worked, but not this time.

Have you any idea what could be wrong and how to fix it?

    cheers

i think it does overwrite the pre loaded map/whatever map is in your device unless you transfer it to a memory card (microsd) that is inserted in your device if it supports one.
