OK...It is solved.
I knew that I had to uninstall the culprit mapset which was Iran map , but the tools that was suggested did not work for me until I googled the web and I was introduced to
MapSetToolKit (sorry , I am not allowed to post a URL or link by the forum)
It is an excellent application to manage the mapsets in Mapsource. Highly recommended and needless to say , I could easily remove the malfunctioning map.
It is a bit surprising to me how the Mapsource application refuses to start when a faulty mapset is installed...I think that is a weakness in programming.
