    Thanks Dasilvarsa. Makes sense.

As far as which JV to go with, I took a route near my house and repeated it with the LaneAssistFull, Full-Screen and LaneAssistPortraitFull. Full Screen looks like an animated version of LaneAssistFull, so that's out. I liked LaneAssistFull better than the LaneAssistPortraitFull, but the fact it only stays up for 10 seconds then disappears, bugs me, so I think I'll stick to the default LaneAssistPortraitFull in the end.
Thanks y'all! Have a great weekend. This was a fun little project learning all this stuff!

You can Also test JCV and Speed Camera Alerts with GPS simulator mode no need to Drive Around and Waste Fuel (LOL)

LOL, no kidding! I'll have to try it. How can you put in your starting point, if it's not from where you currently are? And how do you set the speed? For example, if I want to try out a stretch of highway, to see how the JV would look before an exit...

For 37xx: From Main Page [Where To?/View Map] Select Tools>Settings>System>GPS Simulator>On. For an example HW route with lots of VC Views: Go back to main page [press and HOLD the return arrow lower LH crn] then Select 'Where To?'>Towns>Search [mag. glass in top LH crn]>Enter 'New York NY' and Select it>Press menu bars [top LH crn]>Select 'Set Location'. Repeat but this time select Buffalo in Towns and press 'Go!'. When the simulated navigation begins, press the upper LH crn [turn arrow box] then the down arrow to scroll thru the route. Give it a sec between presses for it to load an available image if present at each exit.

And how do you set the speed?
You can't change speed in simulation in 37xx.

For example, if I want to try out a stretch of highway, to see how the JV would look before an exit...
Just try it, i can't be bothered posting more images ..... [I need another Bex. Maybe a Becks or twenty will do ....]

OK, Neil. You are a god. And caty's a goddess. That has to be the coolest thing I've learned about my Nuvi in the 5 years I've owned it!!!

Especially the set location thing, and how you can scroll thru the route by pressing the menu button in the top LH corner of the screen. Based on the previous tip, which taught me at least I don't need to go out and drive a route to see the JV's, I thought I'd have to sit thru watching it "drive" otherwise to check out the various JV's from home. Hence my question about if it was possible to change the speed the simulator was driving.

And as an extra bonus, thanks to you, I've got JV's working for my NT EU maps. Based on caty's earlier reply, I'd understood for my EU maps if I wanted JV, I had no choice but to load the NTU maps so I could get the default LaneAssistPortraitFull, as it's not available with the NT maps. But your tip that my GPS can also handle other JV types, such as LaneAssistFull - which IS available with the NT maps and I have it in my possession too - allowed me to load that one for my EU maps.

I just tried the simulated route from Milan to Como with my newfound knowledge, and JV works perfectly! So it's way better than not having JV's with my EU maps which I thought was stuck with, or me having to go off and do all the work to get NTU maps so I could have the LaneAssistPortraitFull JV.

As an aside, do most people who have the choice, prefer the LaneAssistFull JV or the LaneAssistPortraitFull? I like the look of LaneAssistFull better, but not the fact it only stays up for 10 seconds and then disappears, hence why I ended up sticking with LaneAssistPortraitFull.

I actually consider JCV to be more 'distracting eye-candy' than genuinely helpful, well mostly, but especially if you have some familiarity with the general area. As far as the fullscreen vs splitscreen, at least with the splitscreen you still get the map showing which is why i generally prefer it over the fullscreen. When you think about it, you really shouldn't be giving the JCV pic more than just a quick glance anyway just as you give the map a quick glance and anything more that that is downright dangerous unless you're a passenger/navigator.
