    is it possible to copy a part of a map (.img) on my gamin gps to another sd card in my computer?

    No, you can't effectively use part of an IMG file like that [you can split it with GMapTool but then the result loses search functionality which makes it useless in a device]. Read this: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. You need to use the PC Install [MapSource Data] to generate a partial IMG file with MapInstall. Best to check the [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] before asking ....
