    Default Garmin Nuvi 140LMT

I've bought a Garmin Nuvi 140LMT (Used), registered it and tried to get a new city navigator map on it. The 2013.10 Central region is installed now.
The problem is that Garmin Express is telling me that i have to buy a map-update, so no LM?

Is it possible that the Garmin is registered already, but why can i register it also?

I contacted Garmin by email, but no response yet.

    Maybe someone can help me.

    Hi
if you could register it, it means it were not registered or the registration has been removed by the old owner.
Probably is T only and not LMT, or there is an error in Garmin database.
    Check your registered product at:

    Hi catymag

    Thanks for the answer.
It is really a Nuvi 140LMT, mygarmin is confirming that.

I will give it another try to contact Garmin about this problem.

Sometimes I randomly have the same problem that Garmin Express does not acknowledge the entitlement to a map update for a Lifetime Mapupdate device I have. I then use Garmin MapUpdater instead.

    Code:
Please Login or Register to see the links
If that application also denies access to a map update, contact Garmin about the issue. Please note that (officially) the entitlement to Lifetime Mapupdates for a particular device expires two years after the last time a Lifetime Mapupdate was installed on that device. If you contact Garmin, don't do it by email or contact form. Use the phone. First of all, Garmin is not exactly known for its prompt response to email. Secondly, when talking live to a Customer Service Agent, they may be more inclined to accomodate you then when using a rather impersonal email service.

You stated your location as Netherlands (although your IP address tells me something else). You can call the Garmin Helpdesk from your landline within Holland for free on 0800-0233937. Using a mobile? Call 035-5393727 (local rate). More details here:

Considering Garmin Express as well as MapUpdater deny you access to a Lifetime Mapupdate, could mean the subscription has timed out. This suspicion seems te be confirmed by the current map, being 2013.10 (4 years old)... See what Garmin says.

I became an email from Garmin that i have to look in the box for a black card with "Numaps Lifetime Europe" on it. I replied that i donīt have a box, i bought it second hand... Yesterday evening i connected the Nuvi with Garmin Express and voila, a mapupdate is available I think it was an error in Garminīs database like catymag said before.

Thank you both for the help!!
