    Probably the connection to the GPS antenna or the antenna itself is faulty when GPS software cannot update. If that's the problem, for such an old device a hardware fix is not economically viable unless you can do it yourself.

    It may be an indication that the GPS firmware did not get flashed properly into the memory after the last update. Most likely, WebUpdater or Garmin Express won't offer to reinstall the GPS firmware because it thinks the latest version is already installed. What you could try is to force a reinstallation of the latest firmware (version 5.10) for your nüvi 200:

    -1- Download the firmware file nuvi2xx_WebUpdater__510.gcd and save it on your desktop.
    Code:

    -2- Download WebUpdater and place a shortcut to the file on your desktop.
    Code:
    Please Login or Register to see the links
    -3- Connect your nüvi 200 to the PC and wait for it to be recognised.
    -4- Once recognised, drag and drop the firmware file onto the WebUpdater shortcut.
    -5- Click through any dialog boxes that may pop up and let the process finish.
    -6- After disconnecting the nüvi safely from the PC, let the nüvi reboot.
    -7- Make sure the battery is sufficiently charged (or connect the nüvi to charger) so the reboot is not interrupted.
    -8- It can sometimes take up to several minutes for the firmware to be fully installed into the various areas of the device.

    @doko
    Have a look at Tools>Settings>System>About. If it shows 'GPS SW Version: 0.00' instead of an actual number then it's one of the hardware faults i mentioned. In that case you can try updating forever, it'll never succeed.

    Yes, if it's faulty. But it might be elsewhere, a fault on the PCB itself too.
