Default Strange behaviour in 265w routing

    Hi,
I've been noticing this strange routing my 265w takes in the latest Navigator Europe maps at least from the 2016 version up to the lastes one 2017.10. The gps takes through the outside of roundabouts instead the going through them ( much faster) and it takes me to outer (to the right side) roads instead of staying in the main one (much faster ones) and then going back to the mains one.

This is and example of the first behavior:

    WrJMtXB

    And this one the second:

    dJO9NOz

I didn't noticed this strange routing in older maps and I've tryed with shorter ways instead of faster ways but it doesn't change. Also i tried going to the oldest firmware i could find 7.60 but does the same thing so i think it's the maps. I also tried with the NTU maps although I know they are no really compatible with the navigator.
I know it's an old garmin model but it was doing fine until now

Have you built these IMGs with Basecamp/Mapinstall or Mapsource?
Mapsource is discontinued since a lot and building IMGs with it may give routing problems.

May be wrong speed limits on these roads?

I experienced the same on any of the devices I have a few years ago. At a particular motorway intersection, I would be guided off the main motorway onto the adjacent lane where traffic exits and new traffic enters. Only to join the main motorway again one mile further. This "routing error" was embedded in the map algorithm. Can't remember anymore which version of the European NT map, but it got corrected a few publications later. If there's anything you'd like to do about it, I would suggest you report it to Garmin.

    Code:

However, knowing Garmin, I would not have high expectations of a swift map correction.

Sorry I forgot to mention that I tried the same routes on an Etrex 20 and they are the correct ones just like in Basacamp also its on the 265w thats wrong, so it can't be a speed problem on the maps

Hmmm, interesting. So there must be a difference in the way your nüvi 265W calculates routes and the way your eTrex 20 does it. Have you compared the settings in Route Avoidances and Usage Mode?

I simulated a route across the same intersections on a nüvi 1490T and a nüvi 265WT using the CN Europe NT 2017.10 map. The results differ from the route calculation on your nüvi 265W:

    rHGpxWg
    nüvi 1490T

    RgrxAeP
    nüvi 265WT

Apparently the cause of the different route calculation must be something in your nüvi 265W...
Have you tried resetting it back to factory default settings?

Is that on the same 2017.10 City Navigator map?. I will try resetting later on.
Funny you have the correct routing on almost the same model as mine
