Default HELP! - JCV / 3D Ver. vs Map Ver. Compatability?

    Hi All.

I am new here and have a question.

Can I use a newer JCV and 3D file with an older map image?

For example I have the map image loaded for North America NT 2017.10 but have installed the newer JCV (D3192200A.jvc) and 3D (gmap3d.img) files from 2017.20.

Logic tells me the 3D file might work as it is the same name. Any ideas?

The JVC file might if the name was changed to the previous version e.g. D3192190A.jvc ...... Or would it work regardless?

Any help appreciated as I cannot test the files. I dont live in NA and don't want to get there and it does not work.

I guess I could download the newer Map version .20 but I dont have so much bandwidth and I am curious anyway.

    Thanks.

    Simple answer: no.
Ancillary files contain the same FID of the img, so are version dependant.
