Default GMAP to IMG Conversion Complete; Now What?

Hi: I have converted a .gmap file to Garmin .img files using the program "Map Reverser"...No problem...As you can see from the attached screenshot, I have a bunch of .img files and several other types of files...I want to put these files onto the SD card in my Garmin 64s...Question: How? Do I create a sub-directory under the "Garmin" directory on the SD card, or do I just copy all of the files into the card? Do I copy the other file extensions onto the card or just the .img files? I hope my question is clear enough! Thanks a lot...

I am not familiar with the program 'Map Reverser'. The usual way to create an .img file out of a .gmap folder is to use the program 'MapInstall'. The result is one .img file which is to be placed in the Garmin folder on the microSD.

Probably the reference is to [Only registered and activated users can see links. ], a software product by JaVaWa which converts gmap folders to the older-type pc install version. It's not of any real practical use these days but was a great resource in its day.

The 'img' files you see are not usable directly on your unit at all [so you're still in Kansas Toto, umm... i mean Steve]. Simply follow smokefree's advice and use MI to compile a usable img file directly from the gmap folder. Also, welcome to GPSPower.
