    ALL GPS units are give off a signal, not just receiving various satellite signals. Nothing to do with Bluetooth.

    That's not the point here. The point is as always....where is the antenna located....so I can determine if the received signals will be attenuated by aluminum foil that I want to try to use to keep the unit cooler....the case is black and absorbs sunlight and gets warm.
    I have decided that no one here really has the exact answer, so, I will do my own experimenting, I have the equipment to do so. I only posted the question because I had hoped someone had already faced the problem of overheating and charging shutdown.
    When I finish my testing, I will report on it, in case anyone else wants the information.

    Oh really?! What signal is that? Whom are they broadcasting to? Do educate us...

    Your understanding of GPS systems is totally incorrect. GPS devices are all receivers only. None of them broadcast/transmit anything as far as GPS functions are concerned. If a GPS has built-in Bluetooth capability, then that's the only RF transmitter that the GPS would be broadcasting.
