    [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] how to make the 1455 display the name of the road on the sign? thanks
    Contact Garmin or seller of C265 and if you get any replied at all, the answer will be not possible. Unless you got it directly from Garmin for that Garmin product, don't expect perfect results. As Neil said, just be grateful and move on. Of course we can always use another hacker to help with fixing it.

    G'day Osiris, i reckon it's a 'TWN style' JCV file with several image layers which is more like the Western layered style using SVG type text rather than the usual Asian with just the single complete image for each view in the lower layer and the 'pirate' screen in the upper.

    Ahem .... Why do we need another hacker mate, when we got you?

    Yeah, the Asian JCV Tool could have "unlocked it" wrong; but until we know how each different firmware treat the displaying of it, you really won't get a strategy that works for all. You figured out what those Aussie alerts that I posted are?

    Is CN China 2015.40 the 'gmapique.img' [and which you said you had on SD card] the one you have the JCV problem with? Both gmapprom.img and gmapprom1.img shown in your screenshots are it seems on the device and are official maps with unl & gma codes. Have you now moved the unlocked map from the SD to the 1455's internal memory and if so why do you still have the gma & unl codes for it as they can cause problems with correct operation of an 'unlocked' map img file. Could you please upload a copy of the CN China 2015.40AN [etc] img file [not the gma/unl files though] and CHNAN.JCV file to ZippyShare, bin.ge or some other free hosting site.

    Your screenshots are hard to read as thumbnails, here they are in original size:

    i just want to put it on micro sd card for another garmin nuvi 1455...thanks
    Sorry mate but do you REALLY know what you are doing???
    C265 and 1455 are two very different devices. 1455 is old and simple and can NOT read files that C265 reads!

    Here are the files of China CN NT 2015.10 (CH) for the two devices, everything is DIFFERENT !!!
    China%20NT

    Roadmap file is smaller for the C265 because it also has a additional "special" file, gmapique.img for Indexing.

    JVC files are also different, C265 uses SGVZ images (Scalable Vector Grafics-zipped) and 1455 uses PNG images.
    SGVZ images use as layers .jpg pictures for the background and .png pictures for the arrows.
    For the road signs there are no pictures in the file, they are created as "painted polygons" and the letters are written as "fonts"
    1455 uses a JCV file with multi-layer images, that are made of only .png pictures (as semi-transparent layers), one for night or day sky, one for the background, one for the road signs+letters and one for the arrows.
    This is why 1455 cannot display the letters on the road signs, because there are no pictures of the letters in C265 JCV file.
    By a strange coincidence, 1455 can display a multi-layer JCV image (out of the C265 JCV file), using the background .jpg and the arrow .png and even "paints" the road signs, but when it comes to letters, it can't "draw" them on the road signs.

    So if you want your 1445 to function properly, go to [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] and download 3218866.zip file that is made for nuvi 1455.
    Unzip it, unlock gmapprom.img, delete all C265's files and copy the correct files to 1455.

    You can also try a more recent map, for example [Only registered and activated users can see links. ], using data from the archive 3480268.zip for your nuvi 1455.

    UPD:
    For the HongKong/Macau you can use files from the archive 3480162.zip without SQLite folder.

    The maps you uploaded are two maps:
    1. CN China NT 2015.40
    - gmapbmap.img [2.737.152 bytes] --> China Basemap
    - gmapsupp.img [3.033.858.048 bytes] --> China Roadmap
    - (gmapique.img [1.145.044.992 bytes] --> China QSI Index file, you didn't uploaded it, it's located in Map folder in C265)
    2. CN HK/Macau NT 2015.40
    - gmapsupp1.img [74.444.800 bytes] --> HK/Macau Roadmap

    Do NOT use C265 files on 1455.
    C265 is a "special" device and uses its own kind of files.

    For 1455 and CN China NT 2015.40 download and use what Cnfhbr says in post #18

    For 1455 and CN HK/Macau NT 2015.40 download and use 3480162.zip for nuvi 2505 from [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
    Do NOT download the .zip for C265, it is a totally different map, it is ONLY for C265.
    For more technical view, C265 has different Poi file, different JCV file (SVGZ type) and totally different Map file (.img)
    Its .img file contains different size IDX sub-file, different size TYP sub-file, different size QSIIndex sub-file and most important, different names and sizes for the map sub-files for Hong Kong and for Macau.
    Its TYP file is "super big" at 32.7 Mb (almost half the file is TYP) and contains 4.141 Poi types (!!!), because Garmin defined as Pois, not only the common types (Banks, hotels, restaurants, gas stations etc) but also thousands of buildings, monuments and landmarks, that does not exist in the other 3 HK/Macau maps (4.141 vs 498 Poi types).

    Download and use the zip file for 2505 because it has a "PNG type" JCV file with image size 212x234 and because the JCV file in the 3480155.zip has images with 400x366 size (very large for 1445).

    Do not use the SQlite files on 1455.

    The differences in sizes (bytes) and names of the sub-files of the 3 gmapprom1.img, it is gmapsup1.img for the EDGE 810.
