Default Maps from Mapsource to Basecamp

    Dear All,

I am bit green when it comes to computers i am almost 50 as well so pardon for my ignorance can keep so much with the technology. I have Garmin map source with a set of marine maps of the Mediterranean installed, specifically around Malta which i use in combination with my Garmin 60 Csx. I was told that to use the new hand held Gps Garmin 78s i need to use the Base camp to transfer way points and tracks as map source does not support it.

My problem, i installed base camp and my old 60Csx transferred all the way points and track but there is no maps on the base camp. What shall i do to get the maps running on base camp?

I also would like to installed my europe 2016.20 maps is it possible?

Thanks for your kind and continued support to this site.

    Regards

    Camel 10

    Dear Catymag,

Thanks for your kind reply. I downloaded home port and after installing the map which showed on map source now is seen on home port as well, so now i guess the 78s will also work with this software. I will try that out as soon as i get home and connect the gps.
The progam is also showing me that i have Garmin Europe 2016.20 which is locked. It is asking me to unlock it, since i only downloaded it from this website and is working on my nuvi, can i make it work on either home port or base camp please?

    Thanks and regards

I sincerely thank you for your efforts in helping me and i am very sure that you can succeed in no time in getting the maps operational. But I could not find the maps file accept a file with the name of BCATL85 and there is a lot of img file with numbers. in front.

Should i put the 2016.20 file in this same file and then run the unlocker you sent me or there should be another file?

Thanks again for your kind efforts.

You must find the CN gmap folder, copy the unlocker in it and as per instructions: run as administrator..

Finally succeeded, one problem i was encountering is that i could not see the hidden file were the maps where. After that ran the programm you sent and it worked wonders.

Thanks again for your patience and guidance. Would highly recommend you.
