If a Lifetime Map subscription is linked to your nüvi 2598 (indicated by the model number 2598LM), just put the microSD in the slot of the nüvi and use Garmin Express (free download from the Garmin website) to update the map. GE will automatically detect the microSD and use its storage space in case there is not enough space in the nüvi's internal memory.

In case you like to move something to sd to free some space to add content in internal, just move the gmapprom.img in sd/Garmin

Correct... provided there's a Lifetime Map subscription linked to your nüvi. If it is just space you want to create on the internal storage of your nüvi (for whatever other reason), follow the advice given by catymag: move the file gmapprom.img from nüvi:\.System to SD:\Garmin.
