    Firmware nuvi 2x5w

I have the nuvi 2x5w & I get this message

[[ No Detailed Maps Found That Support Routing" or "No Map Data Available Nuvi 205w will not work ]]

Yes this happened when I tried to update maps I did forget to backup my SD card so all bin & img files lost. Does anyone have to correct place I can get the right firmware & file I need to get the NUVI back up & running again. I have a master reboot this still does not bring back all the old firmware I had on the system..

    Any Help Thank You CH33RS

It's not a firmware problem so moved to discussion section. The unit doesn't have access to a routable detail map, in other words your map update has failed. So do the update again and it should be ok.

You must know the HWID of your nuvi to get the right firmware to make the cure, so you will need this:
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

    it can be
    Code:
Please Login or Register to see the links
    or
    Code:
Please Login or Register to see the links
as you can see there are 2 different 2x5w versions.

King Troy, try to do so.
On a clean SD card in folder Garmin put any small non locked map named gmapsupp.img, insert in the nuvi and turn it on. If the firmware and the contents of the internal memory is not damaged after 10-20 seconds the nuvi should give you access to the main menu. Now you can connect it to your computer and update the firmware by garmin WebUpdater . If on the SD card was officially purchased map the possibility of free updates lost, you no longer need Garmin express. Update the desired maps by copying on SD card ( look for the unlocked map on the forum ).
If this does not fix the problem follow the catymag instructions.

Thank you all great forum & help I was busy & now going to try this & thank you CATMAG I was just looking to see if I had the fireware 7.80 & needless to say I didn't have it & now I do. Vic77 Thank you but I it doesn't let me do any of that. If you seen my screen shot I can only get off there by holding the screen for about 30second & it lets me out of there & yes I can get to main system & it still says that I need maps. I do thank you & very much I am going to take my chances on the cure I have all the tools I think & I am ready to give it a try. I will inform you all how it goes. Great instructions & if the tools do what they say they do I am sure I can get it done 20 plus years with computers & programs. I am sure if I don't get it the first try It will be because I I did something wrong..

How did you update to V7.80? Or do you mean you didn't have that version downloaded? You should use the version on the unit to make the cure if possible, check with G7toWin as Caty suggested as it will also show the version presently onboard as well as the HWID. I didn't have fireware version DL.

Clean SD card format fat32 100% sure SD card is good...

Cure.exe & updater.exe in one folder. Drag drop click cure. Power was off hold corner connect to PC but no [[ding dong]]

Tried about 20 times & tried both firmware versions. This is very simple & straight forward stuff with the great instructions that are provided.

Machine don't own us we own them & I don't give up until I win so if anyone has anything to add please do so knowledge is power & I am sure there is a ton of it here in the forum.

You don't use an SD card for loading cure firmware, that's done in [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] via [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] and you don't put GarminCure3.exe in there either, that's used to MAKE the cure fw. Please fully read the links in P#4 before you do anything further or your unit will end up hard bricked.
