Default Garmin Streetpilot c550 Solution for No Satillite Signal

Decided to Take my Garmin to the City since its the most difficult place to navigate specifically San Francisco. I had multiple stop to make and I lost Satellite signal every place i was traveling. Given most of the places were surrounded by High rise buildings but I would have to pull over and wait for signal or just drive till signal came back I even tried rebooting the device but same problem. I wanted to toss the Garmin out of the car. I could see being in a parking garage or underground causing no signal but It seemed like the Garmin failed when i needed it the most. Anyone know what to do when this happens.

Which kind of windshield do you have in your car ? Some are bad for satellites reception.

Old thread, but my current issue.

Was trying to run a GPS receiver on the dash board. Well after trying five different receivers, I could not get one which locked in a reasonable amount of time. Most would not lock in twenty minutes.

Opened a signal strength app and measured the signal on the dash as compared to outside the car and the signal was HALF. 48 outside and 23 on the dash. Locked within seconds outside the car
