    No, it's not technical at all (technical is to ask you to put 3598 to MTP mode, then make system protected and hidden files and folders visible, then asking you for screenshots of almost everything on 3598, file names, sizes and time stamps, just to see what GE has done to your device, and if you use a MAC, god help us!!!!!)

    So there is no CN Europe NTU 2016.30 in your myMaps list.
    Backup your microSD and format it and then start a new update using Garmin Express (Device and Computer download).
    If everything goes OK with Garmin Express, unplug your 3598, preform a Clear Nonvol and you should be OK.
    The total size of the update should be around 12 Gb, ~4.8 for PC version, plus all the files needed for the 3598, that are first downloaded and copied on the PC and then copied on the 3598 (internal memory or card, it's GE decision which file is written where).

    @x-trail and all
    if you like to use Mapupdater, use this pietu's version (no update to GE)

    Unpack in a directory and run GarminMapUpdater.exe

    You have to navigate to get to the good.

    Ok, copied the SD card and formatted it Fat 32. ran GE and again shows error message. In the tools pane it shows the device storage as 88% full. on the info pane of the Sd card shows 15.91Gb free.

    Try this:
    use the linked above Mapupdater, remove the sd, when it says you need a sd, insert it and go on.

    The contents of GarminMapUpdater.exe. can not be extracted with this programme. The Unarchiver is the programme,

    You must extract the rar you download in a directory and not GarminMapUpdater.exe. Just run GarminMapUpdater.exe

    Hello everyone!
    I bought a Garmin 3598 lm with a 2014 Europa map. I'd like to upgrade but GE says there is not enough free space in the internal memory. I inserted a sd card it recognizes but the message "update failed" appears. The same is true with WebUpdater. Please help me what to do with it !.
    Thanks in advance.

    In the meantime, the map of 2014 had to be deleted from the system folder. So he asked for the sd card. I do not understand why!

    @Lezli
    Remove the microSD from the device. Connect to GE and accept the map update then wait until GE prompts you to insert the card and it should complete ok. If it still fails, remove the device from GE and try again after re-adding it.
